Low cost window/door sensor

Post by Raspberry Piet »

Just to inform compatibility:

For € 2,59 i bought a new Door-sensor (to replace an unreliable AMST-606 KAKU)

This one:
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/Wireless-Door-Wi ... dc3&_uhb=1
Image

After placing a few jumpers the RFXCOM recognized it as:

Code: Select all

Packettype    = Lighting5
subtype       = BBSB new
Sequence nbr  = 1
ID            = 075555
Unit          = 2
Command       = Off
Signal level  = 7
(other jumper configs results in different ID's)

One disadvantage: It just sends an Off signal (once when door opens) , never an On signal.

For my purpose it doesn't matter, i'm gonna mount it on the letter flap/mailbox (for push-message notification)

Make sure you buy the 433 Mhz version with the PT2262 chip!

I think this PIR motion sensor will work also:
http://www.ebay.nl/itm/171089657359?var ... 1439.l2649

Same 2262 chip and jumpers.
I ordered one.
Will report here if working or not.

edit: Yes! the RFXCOM recognized it as:

Code: Select all

0710010050100070
Packettype    = Lighting1
subtype       = ARC
Sequence nbr  = 0
housecode     = P
unitcode      = 16
Command       = Off
Signal level  = 7
The pir pcb looks slightly different as advertised.
Type PIR538C.
Signal transmission time is about one second. (1.3s)
Have to find out about the different jumper settings.

@Raspberry Piet,

What is your jumper setting? And is it complete impossible to send on commands?

Mwhaaaa..

Are those not the sensors that turn your system on a locked for x seconds??
This may mean that every few seconds nothing to start with your domoticz system

The famous bomsignaal ....
http://www.domoticaforum.eu/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=7337

Or are this different motionsensors.??
Because then they do have potential.... :D :D

I hope you can perhaps test it in the RFXcom [ manager? ]
If it give a bomb you do not use them!!!
Your system is than useless..

The RFXmngr ignores duplicated packets so can't tell for sure?

But I think it doesn't send a bomb signal.
Simple test: Dummy switch fires a script (that sends a RF signal for lights on) after it received the signal from the chinese door sensor.
The light goes on without delay.

There is no delay.
The moment of sending is not the problem.
The time of sending is the problem..
Perhaps you can ask Bert, on his forum..
How you can test the sensor..

Jumper settings:

You can choose setting 1.5m 3.3m 4.7m
Choose 3.3m

Setting for different ID's A0-A7 i think.
My setting now is A1 High wich gives ID 075555

Have not checked all possibilities.

Without hardware tweaks i think it will not send on commands.

It could take some time before the door sensor arrives but then i will check with my SDR receiver and see the transmission time.

Mwhhhaa..
In that way i order one...
When you can give the answer, it is very cheap.
I do now try the zwave pir and motion.
Only they are not realy stable on my RPi..

Can't follow. Doesn't sound logical to me.
The RFXCOM sends a RF signal immediately after receiving the RF signal from the chinese sensor.
So my conclusion is the signals don't interfere each other.

In practice the chinese sensor works more reliable for my letter flap than the KAKU ever did.

Maybe can test/compare the signal with a RTL-SDR dongle, will try if i find time for it.

When you open a door, it sends a off command. What about when you close the door, does it send another off command?
If that's the case, it's easy to write a script which sets an switch for a open or closed door.
