Raspberry pi install script

Hi. I have a raspberry pi 2 with raspbian stretch headless, installed it yesterday. I cannot get the domoticz install script to run past the "checking git..." part, it just returns without error message back to bash prompt. Any ideas? Tried to Google last night, but didn't find any topics.
