Backup and Restore on the same Raspberry with a clean install

As said, I plan to make a fresh and clean Raspbian and Domoticz installation using the same hardware.
Does this work with Backup/Restore?
Do I need to relearn all Z Wave devices? Or can those be transferred as well (I use the same stick etc).
Otherwise I need to exclude and inculde again.
