Hello, has anyone managed to find Domoticz-compatible Z-wave wall plug that can handle very low temperatures, about -30 celsius or so would be nice.. Would be ideal for car engine block heating.

I really don't think there's any.

I live in southern Finland so very rarely (if ever) it goes down to -30 but -20 does not seem to be any kind of problem at least. I've also had a battery operated NEO z-wave door contact in my mailbox year around and no problems so I'd say the official ratings have quite a big safety margin...

Thanks for the info Nautilus! I live in northern Finland I've actually been looking that same Z-wave.me adapter but haven't been brave enough to buy and test if it works, great to know it does work. Was it hard to get working or just plug and play? That door contact in mailbox is a great idea

Just plug and play if I remember correctly. If you go for this option to control car heaters there are some good example scripts on the forum which are based on setting the "leave time" and then depending on outdoor temperature it will automatically set correct heating time (based on the intervals you set in the script).

The only downside with these Z-wave.me plugs is that although they claim to have energy consumption monitoring it is actually a fixed wattage that you set for the plug and it just calculates the energy usage from that and the amount of time the plug has been on. So there is no real load monitoring with used energy calculation.

Just a word of warning... I've had two of these Z-wave.me plugs, and they've both failed on me after a couple of years. They're no longer available from the Dutch retailer I bought them from, and when I asked why, I was told because the failure rate was too high on them.

Oops, sounds bad. Mine have not reached the two year mark yet so I can only comment that they've worked without problems so far. And even though I've enjoyed the "automated" car heater I'd prefer not to have to change them every two years, it would become a bit too expensive in the long run.

Same for me - in Germany. First was replaced while warranty - is broken now again. second was broken after some more than one year.
Not available more - and no alternate Z-Wave device is available...
