Added Wenzhou TKB TZ68 On/Off Switch Socket

I have added a definition for a simple zwave mains socket, the Wenzhou TKB TZ68 (manufacturer 0118, product 0101, id 0103), which seems to work nicely. Is there anything else I need to do?

Added one line to Config/manufacturer_specific.xml:

Code: Select all

   <Manufacturer id="0118" name="Wenzhou TKB Control System">
+ <Product type="0101" id="0103" name="TZ68 On/Off Switch Socket" config="wenzhou/tz68.xml"/>
   </Manufacturer>
Added new file Config/wenzhou/tz68.xml:

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

<Product xmlns='http://code.google.com/p/open-zwave/'>
        <CommandClass id="112">
                <Value type="byte" genre="config" instance="1" index="1" label="LED behavior" min="0" max="1" value="0">
                        <Help>
                                0 -> night light - LED ON when the load attached is turned OFF (default).
                                1 -> on indicator - LED ON when the load attached is turned ON.
                        </Help>
                </Value>
        </CommandClass>
</Product>

Thanks! Looking good.

Can you also create a ticket on the openzwave site? Because when there is a update of openzwave, this might get overwritten

Didn't we already have this? I put my tz66d config on the openzwave forum and noticed we had the tz68 as well so I sent that one too..

It's not in revision 1604. There is a TZ88 though, perhaps you were thinking of that one?

Anyone know if this has been submitted to openzwave? I just installed few days ago and it does not seem to be part of it.

I was sure I had added a comment to the earlier openzwave ticket about this, but I can see no trace of it (though that would have been before their move to github). So I was about to add a new issue, but I see someone beat me to it!

On closer inspection, I was surprised to see that both existing openzwave and domoticz entries for this refer to TZ68E. It would be more sensible to have one generic entry called TZ68 (as I did in OP above), rather than list all the possible suffix letters, which I believe indicate variations in radio frequency and style of plug (A=Australia, D=Germany, E=UK, U=North America etc.), but don't otherwise affect the functionality.

I agree, the country code won't give anything here. How can we get this into next openzwave and domoticz version?

btw, I was the one adding the issue to openzwave since I could not find it. I was trying to make a pull but was unable so I had to add an issue.

Is this xml supposed to give me a configuration option for the TZ68?

I just got one from vesternet and Domoticz 4031 added it as a Wenzhou TKB Control System Unknown: type=0003, id=0002

No options listed below that in the configuration pane. I checked my openzwave config and I do have the tx68 xml file mentioned here so i'm wondering if its not been detected correctly as a TZ68 at all

I'd like to switch the led from night light to on indicator operation, is there any other manual way to do that?

Phil

Looking in the pepper database it seems there's two entries for a TZ68. One for 0101/0103 and one for 0003/0002.

I tried adding a line to my manufacturer_specific.xml for it but that didn't help so I suppose there's some other steps needed as well.

Opened openzwave ticket #741 to add this additional tz68 entry as it seems to work the same way from my testing.

Good day all,
Recently I bought the TZ68 on/off switch but I am not able to include it in my system.
Raspberry Pi2 + Z-wave adaptor and domoticz.
I followed the instructions described in this article but no success.
Changed the manufactor specific xml file and I added the tz68 xml script.
Does anybody have a clue of solution?
A few Stella radiator valves inclusion worked fine within a second recognition.
Please let me know if more info is required to help me.

Harry

How did you try to include it?
I found it much easier than a StellaZ!

Trying to include the TZ68 I did the following:
Go to set up - hardware - clicked on the blue set up button in the Raspberry Open wave line.
In the list that appears I see the Stella Wall radiators and the room thermostat.
Then I clicked on the top right Node Management - Include Node.
The program shows a white box "including ZWave Node."
And I pushed the button on the TZ68.
Nothing happens. Short push or long.

For the Stella's I followed the same procedure with the batteries inserted of course.
Immediately I see Stella Z including, I did not have to push any button.
In the Device list I see 4 lines per valve.
Next step to find out is how to remotely adjust the valves in combination with my room thermostat.
That is programming and I have to work on that. :)

Hi all,
Just found the solution myself.
Although I could not find it on the net.
This is the procedure:
Follow the instructions like above and modify the config files.
Place the switch in a wall socket.
Start "including node " in the Domoticz hardware menu and push the on/off switch 3 times quickly.
That's all.

I could include the TZ68 without any problems, but I also have a TZ67G ( On/Off Dimmer ), and this one does not want to be included.
Anything I could try or do ?

Thanks.

The different variations tend to have different ID's. So have their their own entries in manufacturer_specific.xml, but reference the same config (wenzhou/tz88.xml). For example, the TZ88E has an id of 0x0011 while the TZ88 itself has an ID of 0x0001. I added the TZ88E to openzwave a month or so back

An old thread, but this seems closest to what I need. I have two TKB TZ68 (uk model) wall plugs in my system and in both of them the LED setting is exactly backwards from what OZW/Dom think it is .. i.e. 'on indicator' setting puts the LED on when the load is off, and 'night light' puts the LED on when the load is on .. which I think (maybe I am the confused one) is 180 degrees out of alignment with reality?
