Lua/dzVents on non-added devices

Post by cyclops1982 »

Hi,

I just want to confirm that i got this right:

I'm unable to create dzVents for devices that have not been added to domoticz? Correct?

With 'not been added', i mean they are visible under the 'devices' section, but only show with that green icon to be able to add them to one of the tabs/panels.

If this is the case, is there a way to change this?
I have some sensors that i want to use to trigger a script, but i do not want to show them on my user interfaces.
I know there is a way to make devices hidden (prefixing them with $), but i dislike this option a bit :)

There is no other way than using the $ option.

Is there a specific reason for this?
I mean, is there something that we can change in the source of dzVents to get this to work?

It is in domoticz and affects quite a lot of things. Memory and performance etc.

OK thanks. I'll go with the $ approach.

Glad there is wildcards now :-)
