Changing platform from RPi?

My Domoticz is currently running just fine on an RPi3 (along with Logitech Media Server and Pi-Hole). But I started getting worried about SD breaking down, I suppose the vast majority of Writes come from Domoticz in my case. I thought about migrating the Domoticz bit to a Linux-based box with HDD. Or maybe one that could use my NAS for boot/storage. Btw: the NAS is not Synology, so no way of installing Domoticz there.

Are there any ready, small, low-power and cheap boxes I could use? A Pi with hard disk would be perfect, or a way to plug SATA into the SD slot :-)

For this exact same reason and having a corrupt SD-card for three times in a row, I have attached a external HDD to the RPi3.
Guess the extreme logging and writing on the SD-card caused the problem. Though this is a wild guess.

It now boots shortly from SD (/boot) and then continues to run on the HDD (/) which I hope is more stable.

My suggestion is to buy a cheap HDD drive and attached it to the Pi on one of the USB-ports and run linux of the HDD.

You can perfectly run Domoticz on a Synology NAS.

Stupid typo: I wanted to write 'is NOT Synology', not 'is now Synology' :)

Sorry, I know I could install Domoticz on Synology, but I have a low-end Zyxel for storage...

On Rpi3 there is a possibility to switch to external storage of system, etc.

BTW. Poly-greetings ;)

Here's my $0.02 on moving installations - if it ain't broke; don't fix it. I'd add a USB disk (SSD) to the RPi and keep going. Why you may ask...

I had a rock solid installation running on my Synology NAS. Never needed to restart and it just worked. Day after day, month after month. Then I thought - lets move this to a low power usage setup on a RPi3. Worked fine for a while then started freezing up on me. Had another Linux setup, so thought I'd move it there - same story. No idea what is causing the problem, other than the system moves. I really don't want to build whole system from scratch again, so hoping its an unrelated bug that will get corrected. At least I still have my Synology setup to fall back to - worst case I lose a couple of months of data.
