Help on connecting FGMS-001 On Raspberry PI 3 with ZME Z-Wave.Me USB stick

Post by Quammy »

Hi,

These are my first steps at the HA world, I apologize upfront if my questions are obvious...

My setting is a Raspberry Pi 3 + Z-Wave.Me USB stick (ZMEEUZB1) and a Fibaro FGMS-001 ZW5 V3.2 sensor.

1. I've chosen "OpenZWave USB" on port "/dev/ttyACM0". Is it the correct one? The stick flushes a blue LED once inserted and never again.
2. I've set the FGMS to learning mode (3 quick clicks on teh B button and getting a blue led glowing) - but I don't see appear on the Device section. What else should I do? I tried also Settings -> Setup -> "Accept new Hardware Devices" -> Allow for 5 Minutes but nothing happens.

Thanks and regards

Hi,

No this is not the right port, it should be sometime like /dev/ttyUSB0 or another number.

Thank you gizmocuz.
After playing more with the Domoticz interface I've found that I can somehow load the what looks like internal part of the ZME USB: Setup -> Hardware -> Setupo of the OpenZWave USB -> Node Management -> Control Panel.

On that white screen I have been able to: Controller -> Add Device
and then with the FGMS on learning mode, it appeared on the list of devcies, as type "Z-Wave+ node Reporting Sleeping Slave".
When going back (browser back button), the FGMS appeared on the list of Nodes and its different sensors on the list of Devices.

Questions 1 & 2 answered... Though I couldn't find any documentation for this way nor for any other way to add devices. On all places I've found. teh devices 'just appear' which is not clear at all.

Can you please refer me to the right place? Because I find the wiki lack of a lot of basic data for beginners like me.

Thanks.
