I am adding window & door sensors to the floorplan of my house. My thinking is the floorplan should show me the status of my house not a screen where all the sensors are listed.

If the window is open the window/door should be red on the floorplan, if closed it is gray. I've created a custom sensor that reflects this but have run into a couple issues and I'm wondering if I am even in the right place to accomplish what I am thinking? I want the sensor to be strictly informational, not an active switch. The sensor itself determines it's status not me clicking on it. Also I want to eliminate the text accompanying the switch, the color tells me all I need to know, I don't want the clutter of the text.

Second question, is it possible to display only the temperature without the icon?

HI,

look at my floorplan. I have doors open and shut. you cannot click on them as a lightswitch. that is what you want. I added the contacts as door-contacts.
For the temp without a icon, that is not possible as far as I know. however, you can make a script that copies the temp to a custom sensor every minute and that sensor can be displayed with a transparent icon. see the number 5 on my floorplan.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!

I gave the Door Contact a try and I find that it does change when I click on it.
Contacts works the way I want! When I click on just Contacts, a data page comes up showing the last 25 changes.
Don't need that but it doesn't change the value, so I can live with that. I am on beta v3.8224

Is it possible to delete the text below a contact switch?
