Every now and then one or more of them turns up red in Domoticz. When that happens to one of my smart plugs I have to reconnect them or just push the connect button again in order to get them visible again.
How come the smoke detectors turn red every once in a while? For the smoke detectors sometimes after some longer time they return and become "active" again. Polling is on. Have they not sent information to the Z-Wave network for a while then?

@plantje,
I recon they are battery powered devices. As such polling does not work. The cause is that they have not communicated for a longer period than the sensor timeout in the Domoticz configuration.
Increasing the Sensor timeout will resolve the issue. Alternatively, you can configure the device to send data more regularly, but that will decrease battery life.

Jorg

Yes, they are battery powered. I will increase the sensor timeout. Thanks!

Re: Fibaro smoke detectors turn up red
Hmmm... where can I find that time out?
Currently I have 3 smoke detectors in the network (I've included some pictures here: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=18421)
I've had some false positives.... I believe. So I replaced that one. But looking at the configuration there may have been more causes for the device to start beeping.
Can I see in the log what caused the device to start beeping? I'm sure it wasn't smoke, but perhaps it was loss of Z-Wave network, battery issue etc. Now I don't know what caused it.

Hmmm... on second thought: I will play with the three detectors and their parameters and try to understand it myself. Shouldn't be that hard
