dzVents Not Recognizing New Device

When a new device gets added to Domoticz due to a new sensor in MySensors, nzVents will not recognize it until there has been some activity with the device. Is this normal? It seems new but I haven't been using dzVents for long.
What happened is I tried to call on the new device from a function and dzVents gave an error that the device or id didn't exist.
