Shared server security

Hi everybody !
I'm just building a Master/slave Domoticz configuration with 2 Raspberrys (in different towns) which communicate with the 6144 default port.
The internet accesses to the web sites of both Raspberrys are secured with SSL and the respective routers. Everything works perfectly and it's great !
But I did not find any information about the traffic on the 6144 port for master/slave management. Is it secured ? I tried to discover this in the sources but it's not obvious at all and the relevant wiki article "Setting up Device sharing" doesn't help.
Any ideas ?
