Cheap AliExpress power switches not working as expected

Post by harolds »

I bought some of these because they are really cheap:

The problem is how to configure them properly in domoticz. The RFXtrx manual shows a device that looks a lot like the ones I bought (see chapter 7.10 - Aoke relay). But when I setup two virtual switches (to control both relays on the switch, seen as 'Lighting 5, Aoke, On/Off') by using this type they do respond but only after clicking the virtual switch twice. So for 'on' you need to press the virtual switch twice, and for 'off' twice again. Not very useable.

I tried something else and that is using a remote controller I got from the same company for controlling an LED dimmer. It seems to be using the same PT2262 receiver chip. With that controller I can switch on and off the relay's without any problem! And the funny part is, that if I use the learn button in domoticz it sees is as an 'Lighting 4, PT2262, On/Off' switch. But its not possible to setup such a virtual switch manually!

The only way I could think of setting up multiple PT2262 virtual switches is by stopping domoticz, opening the database with some management tool and duplicate the PT2262 switches. And of course modify the unit id. Then starting domoticz again with the new database. After that it should be possible to use the relay devices after letting them learn the new virtual switches. I still have to try this approach.
