Hello,

Has anyone managed to link their Velux electric windows with Domoticz?

The problem will basically be an IO-Homecontrol support: This radio protocol is closed and only shared between Somfy & Velux (this is their concept of connected house, only between them!)... Some managed to do some weird bridges using Velux KLF-050 & some other techno switches, but only for the blinds, see hereunder schematic (as text in in french):

https://www.domotique-store.fr/domotiqu ... ntrol.html

But for an Integra that'll not do the job to open/close windows as well...

I had the problems for the blinds: I took care not to associate them with an IO module (if you do this once, the blinds control module will switch to IO mode without any possibility to reverse/reset them) to still be able to use legacy/factory mode with polarity reversal (+-24V).

But should I do this again, I would go with Fakro: Their windows/blinds are natively Z-Wave thus no hassle and they offer Velux compatible dimensions. Their market share is growing even if Velux remains nb 1, but start suffering from their closed mindset.

Thanks, exactly what I've found when looking around. LIke you, if'd known before hand then I would have gone for Fakro.
I'm very surprised that they are keeping it "closed"

Thanks! Only issue is that the KLF-100 costs more than I wanted to spend!

On top of that, that's one KLF-100 per control... Meaning that if you want to control each window/blinds independently you'll need a lot of KLF-100! On my side, I do not have Integra windows, only manual ones + electric (wired, not solar) blinds.

In Velux control architecture for wired devices, the radio IO commands are received by their 24V power unit and transmitted to the blind control card on the 24V line using BPL.

Thus, on my side, to make this thing controllable freely, I should also buy one KUX-110 per blind on top of the KLF-100!!!

This control architecture is not only a stupid IO black-box unable to interact with other solutions without weird bridges... but may have been engineered by a junk monkey!

What a waste of money/place (so much modules not easy to fit) and electric power (a KUX-110 alone, do not have figures for KLF, even when not operating a blind, wastes around 5W continuously)... and let's avoid speaking of user convenience.

At the moment, I sticked with legacy +-24V control & avoided pairing an IO-Home heavy shit that would lock me.

My 24V PS is an industrial 80W model (Traco Power) that fits in a small standard box for 4 din slots, needing a few mW when no charge is connected, able to power all my blinds for simultaneous use, for a few tens of €.

I think I'll buy or make a remote controllable module with 1 pair of relays per blind to domotize them, should remain in a hundred € target when Velux shit would have needed 6x this price & a room that is not available (don't intend to have the control stuff in the rooms, but under the roof).

If I had noticed this before my order last year, I would have go with Fakro.

I feel your pain, fakro seems to be much better connected

Well, I think I answered the OP's question?
Anyway in my case I have 2 x Velux Integra Windows at a height of 4m in a high vaulted room. I got the KLF-100 a little cheaper from ebay and I only need 1 because I have both windows modulating to control natural cooling under Domoticz control. If I want more granular control then I can use the supplied remote. It's been working flawlessly for 2 years now, so despite all of the above opinions by @lost ........ it works very well.

I'm going to keep an eye on ebay :)

Agree about the klf-100. Painful to buy, but rock solid in operation for 3 years. I have 3 of them controlling 4 windows with blinds as well. Also bought on eBay - so not too painful really.

I guess it depends on your viewpoint. If you have shelled out serious cash on integra windows, the extra for the klf-100s is in context.

Got a Velux IO Homecontrol window + sunsreen and a KLF200. This KLF200 could switch the window and susnsreen hardwired open or close.
This KLF200 could also be used as a software interface.

Found some information on openhab forum and found a JS wrapper of the REST API.

I was wondering if somebody has implemented this in combination with Domoticz

Any reaction is appreciated

Thx

I am planning to buy a KLF200 as well. It appears to be possible to operate the windows and blinds for my Velux windows over the network with the device. Has anyone been able to use Domoticz for this?

Got my KLF200 working to control a Velux integra window from Domoticz.

1) upgrade your firmware of the KLF200 (note: your devices are removed !!)
2) Define scene's in the KLF200 which you are going to call in domoticz
3) Install JQ parser on the domoticz raspberry PI

Code: Select all

cd /tmp
wget https://github.com/stedolan/jq/releases/download/jq-1.5/jq-1.5.tar.gz
tar xfvz jq-1.5.tar.gz
cd jq-1.5
./configure --disable-maintainer-mode
make
sudo make install
4) Create a executable script in the script direcory of domoticz. See example code below saved as klf200.sh

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh
programm=$1
token=$(curl -H "Accept: application/json" -H "Content-Type: application/json;charset=utf-8" -d '{"action":"login","params":{"password":"xxxxx"}}' -s http://192.168.x.x/api/v1/auth | tail -n +2 | jq -r '.token')

curl -H "Content-Type: application/json;charset=utf-8" -H "Authorization: Bearer $token" -d "{\"action\":\"run\",\"params\":{ \"id\":$programm}}" -s http://192.168.x.x/api/v1/scenes

curl -H "Content-Type: application/json;charset=utf-8" -H "Authorization: Bearer $token" -d '{"action":"logout","params":{}}' -s http://192.168.x.x/api/v1/auth
Note: KFL200 is not multiuser, so make sure you logout on the end of your script
5) Check if your scene does work. example

Code: Select all

./klf200.sh 3
6) last step is to create a dummy virtual sensor with Domoticz. FILL both On and off actions. Make sure that you use script:/// ....
this works for me.

Thanks for the info dude,

I have to look into this to find out what is needed when I run Domoticz from my Synology NAS.

Where can I find the sample script you refer to?

I lift this old thread as I am looking for wisdom.

I have Velux blinds, controlled with the IO protocol from a remote. What I want to achieve is that they go down when my awnings goes out and I was thinking I could put a magnet contact on one of them and let Domoticz do this for me.

I have found several possible options, but none really stands out as the way to go, so looking for input.

Today I run Domoticz with Homebridge and HA Bridge installed.

Velux have their own gateway solution and then you can apparently use Somfy's gateways, certainly Tahoma but maybe also Connexoon?

But, how to get any of them into Domoticz and can i control what I want with them?

Anyone who run this today?

Thanks

I didn't test it

I am asking becuse HTTP is blocked on ethernet on above firmware
Thanks in advance

Hi all, is somobody already using this api https://github.com/MiSchroe/klf-200-api and have some example scripts for it?
I want to replace my old Velux window for a new one SK01 and want to automate it.

I'm about to give it a try. I have installed the klf-200-api on the same server as Domoticz - next step is to write scripts that use this API and have them run from Domoticz. I have no idea on how to go about it though. If anyone could give me hint, I would really appreciate it!

Scripting language seem to be typescript. Is the best way to use a MQTT component for managing this? I'm completely new to typescript, js, etc. Or is it possible to run these script directly from Domoticz?

You already were able to get this working? I'm planning to place some roofwindows, and would like to control the rollershutter by Domoticz.
