Razberry not recognised

I have been using Domoticz with Razberry V2 anf an UPSPico for a number of weeks with high reliability.
But now i tried to update the Pico firmware. With no success, sofar.
Unfortunately now Zwave is not longer active. The Razberry is recognized in the hardware by Domoticz, but if i click 'setup' no nodes are recognized, not even the controller. If i check the daemon log file Openzwave is not started. Apparently something essential has changed in the configutation. but i do not know what.
In the trials to upgrade the Pico firmware i have disabled the ttyATM0 serial getty, later on enabled this service again. Even used raspi-config to enable the serial interface again.
The simplest solution would be to reinstall Jessie and Domoticz, but i prefer to understand what went wrong, if possible.
What to do to check and find out if all services needed to start Openzwave are present?
