nRF24L01 and RFLink from Nodo-shop

If I understand correctly, I can get a nRF24L01 for a few bucks that slots right into my RFLink gateway I got from Nodo-shop without any soldering, and then be able to control Milight bulbs and LED strips.

However, I see there is the normal nRF24L01 and the high power one with antenna. And according to the following page the Arduino Mega doesn't provide enough power for the antenna version: https://arduino-info.wikispaces.com/Nrf ... 4GHz-HowTo

Have I understood that correctly? If so, perhaps the Wiki for RFLink should have this information.

Correct.

I have tried the high power NRF on the nodo pcb and it works without any problems.

Brilliant. Thanks a bunch. On its way.

So I attached the NRF24L01 to the RFLink, ran RFLink Loader V1.10 on the right serial port and enabled MiLight. Starting Serial Port Logging now says:

20;00;Nodo RadioFrequencyLink - RFLink Gateway V1.1 - R46;
20;01;MiLight=ON;
20;02;setGPIO=ON;
10;version;
20;03;VER=1.1;REV=46;BUILD=0c;
10;status;
20;04;STATUS;setRF433=ON;setNodoNRF=OFF;setMilight=ON;setLivingColors=OFF;setAnsluta=OFF;setGPIO=ON;setBLE=OFF;setMysensors=OFF;

However, if I click any button on my MiLight remote, nothing is logged in RFLink Loader. What could be wrong?

Could the lack of signals from my MiLight remote indicate not enough power? Or perhaps something else is wrong?

probably something else is wrong

I created a thread here: https://www.letscontrolit.com/forum/vie ... =11&t=2967

I assume that's more appropriate.

A nice that feature I did not know.
I had to wire a separate nrf antenna for milight back in the days if I remember correctly as the slot on the pcb was used for NoDo only if I remember correclty.
So I guess I misread the release notes

http://www.nemcon.nl/blog2/faq#Freq3

Code: Select all

A: That depends on the Nodo PCB version.
Version 1.1.3 and higher: Yes.
As an early adopter... It seems I can't ,however with a separate antenna it works just fine.
