Doubts on OpenZWave installation

Hi,

I just have installed Domoticz, Versione 3.5877 on my RPi3 and I'm not sure if OpenZWave has been correctly installed.

My doubt arises by reading the section "Build Support for OpenZWave" of guide Installing and running Domoticz on a Raspberry PI https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Installin ... spberry_PI.

My skills does not allow me to understand what it means
Build Support for OpenZWave
If you need support for ZWave, you need to compile open-zwave before compiling domoticz
My silly questions are:
What happens if I do not give command "sudo apt-get install libudev-dev"? OpenZwave will have been installed on my system?
In which cases it would be appropriate a support and therefore the above command?

Claudio :)

If you use a pre compiled Domoticz on the pi, you do not need to install openzwave. It is compiled in already.

Thanks jannl :)

I still would like to know in which cases it would be appropriate a support!

When you are going to compile Domoticz yourself, you will need all those libraries
