How do I add my doorbell?

I have a wireless ELRO DB200 doorbell (433MHz wireless), and an RFLink transceiver (firmware 43) connected to Domoticz. The RFLink sends 433MHz commands just fine (to some KaKu/COCO hardware). I have not been able to test if it receives commands as well though.

I am trying to get the doorbell to show up as a device in Domoticz. I thought that it should show up automatically as soon as RFLink detects it, which would be whenever someone pushes it. But it never shows up in Domoticz. There are no signs of any detected signals in the Domoticz log file either.

How do I get my doorbell recognized in Domoticz?

You may not have the correct mode switched on in Domoticz. Go to the <setup><devices> and choose the mode button near the RFXcomm hardware listed. Make sure the correct protocol (which you can find out from the rfxcom software) is switched on - then it should work.

As much as I appreciate your help, are you sure we are talking about the same transceiver?

I think it's a receiver range problem. I found an old COCO remote. When I press it near the receiver, it is registered and a new RFLink device shows up in Domoticz. When I go to near the front door and press it again, nothing is received. I guess I'll just have to switch to a decent receiver, or hook up the doorbell to a MySensors device.

Ah yes, didn't spot it was rFlink.
