How to setup Activation devices in Groups

Domoticz version: stable
OS: Synology
Zwave controller: aeon z-wave plus usb stick gen5

Hi,

I'm not able to assign an activation device to a group. The list of activation devices is empty.
I have an Eminent wall-switch (EM6514) and a mini-switch (EM6556). Both nodes are available in my network and i can control the mini-switch on/off but i'm not able to control the mini-switch by using this wall-switch (only controlling the mini-switch by pressing the on/off (software) button of the group in Domoticz).

When pressing "Add device" under "Activation devices" in the specific group it will do nothing on receiving an event using the remote button on the wall-switch. Since i'm a beginner, probably due my lack of knowledge, but i also find it hard to find on the internet/this forum.

Can anyone help me with this/give some advice?

Thanks.

You are repeating yourself:
http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic ... 56#p109703

You could start with showing some pictures of the stuff you have.
(i think they look like Philio Tech)
What is in the manual about Groups? Numbers, Lifelines?

Check correct inclusion and Brand:
Go to Setup -> Hardware
Push the blue Setup button of your Z-Wave controller
Make a post with a snapshot of the 2 nodes you are talking about: Eminent wall-switch (EM6514) and a mini-switch (EM6556)
To see if they are included correctly, because there is no Eminent support in the Domoticz/Config directory.
Eminent is a re-branded brand, so we have to find out what brand OZW sees.

There are two ways of Control:
- Direct from Z-Wave to Z-wave device
- Via Domoticz

- Direct from Z-Wave to Z-wave device

Go to Setup -> Hardware
Push the blue Setup button of your Z-Wave controller
go to Node management -> Groups and Network
Make a post with a snapshot of the 2 nodes you are talking about.
Here is the place where you can make a direct connection between the EM6514 to control the EM6556
Add the number of the EM6556 to one of the groups of the EM6514.
One of the groups is the lifeline to your controller, other groups can be used for direct control of other Z-wave devices.
How ... that depends on the OEM brand

- Via Domoticz

Go to Setup -> Devices
Filter on the hex code of each of your devices.
Name and add the switches to Domoticz.
Those switches can be combined in a group:
Go to Scenes. Add a scene. Make it Type: group. Add the switches to the Group
(the Add Devices shown here is for RC learning)

Thanks very much for your comprehensively answer! It's clear to me now.
I got it working by adding the group number of the miniswitch to the wall-switch by using node management under hardware setup.

Thanks again!

Now to help others ...
Eminent is a re-branded brand, so we have to find out what brand OZW sees.

Sorry for the delay: is this information helpful as you requested?

I included two attachments, "Nodes" and "Groups". The first one is showing that the devices are correctly included in the network, the second one (groups) show the devices i included for the wall switch (to set a group of lights on/off).

The specifics for the mini-switch (Brand: Eminent):

https://www.e-domotica.com/nl/producten ... schakelaar

In Domoticz this is referenced as: "Everspring HAN01 In wall switch module"

The specifics for the wall-switch (Brand: Eminent):

https://www.e-domotica.com/nl/producten ... aar-sensor

In Domoticz this is referenced as: "Chromagic Technologies Corporation HAC01 Remote Button".

Hope i provided enough information, if not, please let me know.

Grtz Hans

Hans,
good to know that these simple but rather affordable switches work.

I assume that the HAC01 has some configuration options?
http://www.pepper1.net/zwavedb/device/493
(to set dimmable devices and delayed off)
It can control maximum 5 other Z-Wave devices in Z-Wave to Z-Wave (as you do)

The Chromagic Technologies Corporation (=Everspring=Eminent ) HAN01 works even without a configuration file in Domoticz.
According to Pepper1 it has no configuration options, so no problem.

Thanks for the missing pieces of information.

Today the world is of technology. old fashioned things are now replaced by modern things. I saw the article on proposal writing services where it was stated that houses, offices, schools, and even hospitals have now become very advance. you can find the traces of technology from everywhere.
