Horstmann HRT4-ZW (Secure SRT321) not working as expected

I bought an iQE CP318 (rebranded Horstmann HRT4-ZW) and it's not working quite as I expected it to. I'm hoping someone may be able to tell me how their device compares.

1. When I joined it to the network it added 4 devices. The setpoint and thermometer devices both update in Domoticz, but the Thermostat Mode and Switch do nothing (they never change from "off"). Is that normal?

2. I cannot update the setpoint from Domoticz. My understanding is that the process works like this:

a) Change setpoint in Domoticz. Change appears to be immediately reverted.
b) Thermostat wakes up and receives update, display changes.
c) Thermostat wakes up again, sends new setpoint back to Domoticz which finally updates.

Step C never happens. The thermostat receives the setpoint, but it never sends it back. Therefore the thermometer and Domoticz go out of sync. If I manually adjust the setpoint on the thermometer, they go back in sync again.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts and advice.

Which version of Domoticz are you using?

I have 2 of these thermostats, yes, Mode and Switch do nothing, so I delete them.
But GUI setpoint changing does work, as does using timers to change the setpoint
Domoticz has very slow updates for Setpoints changed in the GUI
It does work, be patient, and look in the log.

The setpoint is indeed taking a long time, but thats not Domoticz blame.
The HRT4-Zw can only update a minimal of 4,5 minutes ( I thought) . But it does update fine.

I'm using 3.5877.

Re. the mode and switch: fair enough, I don't really need them.

I've read elsewhere that it's very slow to update, so I left it all night! In the morning it was still wrong. I tried several times, with different wake intervals. Each time the thermostat updated correctly, but the setpoint never came back to Domoticz.

When you set the wake to 300 and let the HRT4 send an inf packet it will work ( at least over here that worked)

Yes, of course!
As Qwerk says, and I had forgotten.

Are you saying that it only works if the wake time is set to 300?

It will also work with longer times. :D
but the minimum is 256. I rounded it to 300

It will accept an entry less than 256 But the thermostat will keep the old value as active.

I guess there's something wrong with my thermostat then, or my install. :-(

Same here as Engramft. I received the Srt321 last Friday.
Chances made on the thermostaat are reflected immediatly in Domoticz. Vise versa takes longer, dependingnon the wakeup.
But with timers it is a diferent thing. A Setpoint timer programmed for 15:30 (1 hour ago) is still not executed.
Am not home right now, but at least it has not been changed in Domoticz.
Would enabeling Polling solve this slowness?

Sounds like you have a different issue. On my device I can't get the setpoint back from the thermostat at all.

Hi folks! I also have a iQE CP318 ( timer control + wireless thermostat ) and I would like to use it with Domoticz through a z-wave usb stick (Aeon). I already have Domoticz successfully connected with a Fibaro Smoke alarm on that z-wave stick, but I can't pair the iQE.

Can you guys tell me how you did it? Did you use the "include node" in Domoticz's interface, or the button on the z-wave stick ? And on the thermostat / timer control side, what did you have to do? The same procedure as when pairing the timer control and the thermostat? Is is possible that I can't pair it to domoticz because I have already paired the thermostat and the time control between them?
I tried to re-pair first the thermo with Domoticz then the time control but nothing happens... (tried both through Domoticz's GUI and pushing the button on the usb stick).

The attached PDF worked wonders for me. Not sure where i once found this...
The HRT4-ZW is actually quite ok, if you understand z-wave and have this attached doc :)

I have the same issues as listed, swtich and heat-mode don't seem to do anything and set-point in domoticz has to wait until the device wakes up. The wake-up time can be set and i 'activate' this by doing the "Transmit a Node Information Frame (NIF)". This makes Domoticz write the info to the HRT4-ZW.

Hope it helps!

I have the same problem with secure 323.
Any value that is greater than 10 degrees will not update back.. resulting in ozw and domoticz to lose sync
this happens when:
A. i change the setpoint on domoticz from 5 degrees to 20 degrees
B. Change is shown in OZW control panel and on the thermostat itself (both show 20 degrees)
C. Domoticz still shows 5 degrees.
if the change is less than 10 degrees then everything works as it should (e.g from 5 degrees to 12 degrees)
