let's see how many google home devices we have here.
I just own one for less than a week. I can control any device or sense using IFTTT but i can not find a way to get a respond on google home when I press a switch on domoticz. A workaround can be to use 3rd party scripts as izsynth and a casting (more: http://www.linux-magazine.com/Issues/2015/175/Castnow).
Still as google home it looks very powerful, I like to see other ideas if someone like to share.

Thx for your input, i'm waitting this for a long time in french language

Does it mean, when you say : hey google turn light on, you use an ifttt makers rules to make it turn on a light with domoticz ?

What about speed ?
What about port forwarding ?

I understand that for now you can't use Google Home as a notification system, no ifttt rules for this ?

One big question : what about speach reconition when tv or music or people speak on back ground ?

You understand correct. I used a overloaded adsl with 1 Mbit upload so I have close to 5 sec to complete the whole process (it did not bother me).
I did not need any port forward for Google Home. I use only for the domoticz to contact with the IFTTT Maker (I know it is ugly, hope some day mydomoticz to be stable and implement it).
Yes there is no ifttt rules that incude the part of "then that". Google home some times stop listeninging but it looks like that it did not get sound from some specific zones (small dead zones).
if there is a loud environment I got surprised that it still can listen the phrases.
Believe me my English are not so crystal clear so I can not blame google Home. My feeling till now is that it is a device that can get home AI on another level.

Just for fun: On IFTTT you can add a voice prompt like "OK Google, who is Maria?" and get a custom respond and then send an email to the personal email for the person you asked!
The best is on night I say "OK Google, goodnight home" and it triggers a sense on domoticz that power off all lights, turn on outside alarm, shutdown any media device and turn on small night light.
AMAZING!

Ok THX ! For all your input.

5 sec...as this is a cloud solution can be fast, but WAF will decrease, as actually i'm working to make light turn On quicker and quicker.

You can ask for a sensors device too ? (Temp, lux, co2)

About IFTTT a good choice can be a domoticz channel (my domoticz can be the best ones)

I use to test all speach reconision opensource system, and all got same problem : too much noise make it bad reconize (i'm using a kinect as mic).

The big matter is that we can't use TTS or inside LED as notification system (for now, as this a new hardware maybe google will open this feature)

I know, the problem as I see it is the limited bandwidth I have on upstream.

I really do not know how to return on response the results of Maker as the IF runs before THEN THAN that triggers domoticz to return results. Than could be available if Google/IFTTT put google home to the second part (THEN THAT).

As I feel also a part of beta testers of Google Home, I frequently send feedback on Google team. One of the feedback was to enable native notifications. I did not have time to test in depth if I use google calendar so Google Home may read from it as a workaround.

an update:
I scanned google home for open ports and here it is:

Host is up (0.013s latency).
Not shown: 997 closed ports
PORT STATE SERVICE
8008/tcp open http
8009/tcp open ajp13
10001/tcp open scp-config

I think if I get the time I can search in depth for pushing notification to google home.

I'm really hoping that "Google Home" will be available in Europe soon.
I sent my "Amazon Echo" back and gave it a 1 star review.
So far I've not found any information about making "Google Skills" like you can for Alexa
Here's hoping

Think it will be soon -

I like the idea of conversational UX, but you're always limited by what you're integrating with, and how.

Since it supports hue lights, this should work. I use this with my Amazon Echo's.

https://github.com/armzilla/amazon-echo-ha-bridge

Personally I prefer Amazon Echo's, I have 11 echo's setup in my apartment (yes I know thats a awesome number).

Since the introduction of Echo Advanced Spatial Perception I can say "Alexa" and the nearest Echo is the only one that responds.

Ho Ho Ho! a user published an nice python script that can send notifications on Google Home. Easy to use and can also be used as part of IFTTT to respond on domoticz!

The ha-bridge readme says it may not work https://github.com/bwssytems/ha-bridge.

I do not have any Philips Hue devices but i can control all of my lights as if I did.

It just worked without really trying. The trick for me was to make sure that the ha-bridge was simulating pressing the link button when I added Philips Hue to Google Home and then instead of actually linking via the screen that pops up on my phone I just waited a few minutes. When I switched back to Google home Hue was activated. After that I just setup Domoticz Devices inside ha-bridge and vola! voice control via Google home.

Also note that my entire system does not use the 'cloud' for anything except for GoogleHomeKodi (IFTTT). I would prefer that to be in house as well but for the time being this will have to do.
