Geofencing

Geofencing
I have paid for and downloaded the Domoticz android app on my Galaxy S4 and I noticed that it has geofencing capability. I am trying to set this up, but am a little unsure of how it is supposed to work. For testing I set my home location with a radius of 393 feet (120 meters) and added a dummy switch called "Home Geofence". As I select my home location in the app I tie it to the switch I created. As I move outside the radius, I do not see anything happen. I assume that it is supposed to turn on the dummy switch, but I am not sure. I assumed that I would then use a lua script to perform an action, but if I can't even get the switch to work, I am not sure what to do. I googled around and could not find any information on how to set this up and use it. Is there any tutorials out there on how to use this?
Re: Geofencing
Do you have outside local access to Domoticz?
If you get out of WiFi reach, the phone must be able to send the command through your mobile data network because it can't through WiFi.
You have to setup a second (HTTPS) server to access domoticz again.

Yes, I have full control of Domoticz when I am away from home. Port forwarding is set up on my router to the Domoticz server.SweetPants wrote:Do you have outside local access to Domoticz?

So nobody has any information on this? I have another small problem with the app too, am I posting this in the correct place?
Re: Geofencing
Well I think I have this working now, but having some hiccups that I think might be related to my Galaxy S4 phone. So I have this set to work when I leave the house and the set radius from my house that it switches off my "Home Geofence" dummy switch. With that I use a lua script to have it close my garage door. Basically I have the script check if the garage door is open and if the "Home Geofence" switch is off, meaning that I am gone, then close the garage door. The problem that I have, which I think may be an issue with my phone, is that when I return to within the geofence radius of my home, it does not always switch on my "Home Geofence" switch right away. I can make it to my driveway and it still thinks I am away from home. Because of this, when I open the garage door, the system says that the garage door is open, and that I am away from home, so it immediately shuts the door. Not sure how I am going to work around this yet.
One other issue have which is an issue with the app is that I add a geofence location for Home with my address as the location, but in the list of geofences it shows the address of "1501-1565 Johnston Knoll, Fullerton" which is not my address, but if I click on that to edit it, it shows my correct address in the address section.

Re: Geofencing
Did you set the fence large enough?

Re: Geofencing
I have it set to 120 Meters which is about 394 feet. When I leave my house I get between 3 and 4 blocks away before it shuts my garage door. When I get home, for some reason it takes quite a while for it to register that I am within the fence radius. I have not tried yet to set the fence radius larger, but I will and see if that fixes it.
