transmit power rfxcom

hello all.
i see in the RFXmngr of the rfxcom that you can bump up the transmit power of the transceiver.
is there ANY reason NOT to do that????damage to the transceiver in the long run or something??
or is it forbidden by law (in holland) to have more power
??
