i have a problem....
i am using crontab to ping devices if they are online.
i have succes with many devices but 1 Phone i cannot ping.
i gave it a static ip 192.168.0.200
but it never gets pinged.
even when i try to ping it with my pc the request is timed out.
i am positive the Phone is online and have the correct ip adres
how is this possible and (how) can i fix it?????

Hmm, tend to think there must be something of a Firewall app on the iPhone, but as I don't use one an iPhone myself i'm not sure

Whatever, something is blocking the ICMP request to your (i)Phone. I have iPhone's, iPad's, Samsung Note, HTC's and nexus tables in the house all pingable from the network. Be aware, some devices stop responding to ping when idle

do you use the internal ping option???
Or the script version??
Do you see the phone in your router?
Perhaps you have the data support on in your phone and is the wifi bad, so the phone is use your data from your provider.
Phone visible in the router, should be pinged..
Not visible in the router, no ping..

Yes the phone has No data ;-). And i can see it in My network, it is connected to My accespoint.i do not use the Built in ping function but i use a script in combination with crontab( http://domoticz.com/wiki/Presence_detection )(tip from user JVDZ thanks by the way)
And the phone is from My mother in Law,and she is not so High tec haha,so i dont think she has a fancy ping blocker installed on the phone

That does not necessarily mean that IP works. I can connect a phone to Wifi without any protocol enabled.

Don't assume, check to be sure, non-technical people often have app's installed they don't even know what it is.

I Have My wifi disabled from My router.all wifi is from accespoint.i Have pinged several devices with succes that are on My accespoint so that is not the problem.

Why would i need wifi analyzer??i Have wifi guard on My laptop.i can see All the connected devices with ip and Mac adres.

Yes read my post.....
Or you need a ap that clone your router. [ like fritzbox can, i use a AVM FRITZ! 1750E - Range Extender ] works perfect...
