How to create ZWave virtual dimmer switch?

Hi,
My aim: create a virtual dimmer that has a control resolution of 100. This apparantly is possible since commit 4834, when reading this github post:https://github.com/domoticz/domoticz/issues/379
Up to now I used LightwaveRF as Type when adding a dimmer switch, which gives a control resolution of (only) 32 steps.
I believe/suspect/guess I should now add a device with a Zwave 'Type' to get the 100 steps dimmer. But in the Type drop down in the menu 'Manual Light/Switch' I can not find an entry that appears to be Zwave related.
May this has something to do with the fact that I have absolutely no Zwave hardware in my setup? (I'm Raspberry based with only ESP8266 clients at present)
Very possibly I'm overlooking the obvious. But I have been struggling with this for long enough now and suggestions are more than welcome!
