Newbie issue with ZWave on Pi

I've managed to get Domoticz to see my solar edge inverter power generated but am now struggling with Z-Wave devices!

I have a 'ZMEEUZB1' USB Z-Wave transceiver, last night I managed to get this to find and install my TZ69E power meter socket and it worked to control it (but the measurement didn't seem to). The socket was unplugged overnight, today I tried it from about 15m away, (should this be in range?) and no luck. It now fails to find it when it's right next to the PI.

I've also got a 'NQ-9021-EU Power-reader' I couldn't get this detected last night after I found that pressing it's button 3 times is supposed to set it to inclusion mode (according to http://www.benext.eu/static/manual/nort ... 021-EU.pdf) its LED flashes twice then stops. I was about to give up today but then have now got this working (complete with a reading of 23kWh from the factory!)

On the Nodes Domoticz page I tick 'enable polling' then note management -> include node secure (I've tried the include node one to) this causes the LED on the transceiver to flash. But then nothing happens.

I've read this may be linked to the raspberry pis power supply, it is currently using my 2A rated phone one.

Is there a guidance document for new users that I should have read, I'm struggling to find one so hopefully it's a case of 'RTFM'

Thanks

Chris

Why did you unplug it? It's probably marked as dead.
Have you restarted domoticz?

Sorry I had issues logging in yesterday!

I unplugged it to move it to it's new location. Do you think ZWave will manage approx 15 m and through 3 walls? I will try removing the non working node tonight then try again. I suspect it might not accept the node since it thinks it's already got it.

Hmm I'm starting to realise z wave networks don't seem to be able to cope with the controller reseting since my power meter has now stopped working. If this is the case I find it most disappointing that the controller needs to be running all the time.

I'm starting to think that after power down the zwave network needs to be reset? You can do this via the Web interface but is it possible via shell? I'm thinking if so run it via a chron tab every morning.

I've been on holiday but have come back and am still struggling here!

I've restarted Domoticz (my plan is to automatically halt the Pi then turn it off via a timer switch overnight) that seems to happen fine via a cron job (run from Root). Given at present I'm not using Domoticz overnight Is this too much to ask am I better paying to leave my Pi running 24/7?

I decided to try deleting all of the nodes to see if that fixed the issue and it's now not finding them again!

I goto node management -> include node secure (I've tried include node too but think it was secure which worked last time) and this makes my Zwave usb dongle LED flash. I put the device right next to the pi and put it in include mode (flashing LED soe about 5 seconds then it goes off).

Am I doing something wrong or has something broken on my system?

The Pi is currently plugged into my phone charger (2.5A rated) so I don't think this is a supply issue (the original onen I used was only 0.5a and that may have had issues but I've also used a 1.5A one.

bump, I've still not got anywhere with this! Any quick tips.

My plan tomorrow is to make a completely fresh build on a different flash and try that in case that gets me anywhere,

I've still not had chance with this! Any recommendations on a cheap reliable 2.5amp plus supply. I've found one for £6 but with £3 postage!

Thanks

Did you do a clean install? Hard reset the controller and start over?
