Hello Domoticz's community!
I need your help in order to achieve my new home automation project. I hope you can help me!
I live in Belgium. I am moving to a new apartment and there is no individual gas boiler. The building uses a common heater system with no general thermostat in the apartments.
The only way to control the temperature is directly on every heater, thanks to the thermostatic valves.
I bought some Danfoss ZWave valves which work great with Domoticz. The only problem is, I used to have a Nest in my former appartment and I would like to get it back. I figured out a way which might work but I need some pieces of advice and knowledge to go further.
As you know, in Europe, the Nest thermostat uses a "Heatlink" box to connect to the gas boiler.
Nest documentation : http://support-assets.nest.com/images/t ... ide-UK.pdf
Page 32 describes the Heatlink connexions.
Page 35 describes the way it was connected at my former place (dry contact), which is also the simplest way to connect the HeatLink to a gas boiler.
My project is to emulate those dry contacts and make the HeatLink think that a gas boiler is plugged.
In reality, it will be plugged to a Zwave relay or whatever you suggest is the best solution that will tell Domoticz to turn the Zwave valves fully open or closed.
It is exactly the way a gas boiler works, since it does not try to reach a particular temperature but just heats up at full capacity until the Nest tells it to switch off.
Here are my questions :
1/ How can I emulate dry contacts and plug that to a zwave relay ?
I saw that FIBARO makes a universal binary sensor : http://manuals.fibaro.com/binary-sensor/ but i'm not sure it will suit my needs.
2/ Do you see any flaws or things I could do to enhance this project ?
Thank you very much for your help, I hope it will also give ideas to many of you.

Re: Nest - Gas Boiler Emulation Project
Solved!
No need to emulate anything. The Nest does not care whether a gas boiler is connected to the HeatLink or not.
The whole thing can be controlled using lua scripts. Hope it helps someone in the same situation.
