Fibaro wall plug updates almost every second

Hi,

strange behaviour with my new Fibaro wall plug (old version, not "plus"). It started sending updates every second or so although nothing on the parameters would suggest it should. I guess it does not send a new update every second but as single update yields to 6 lines on the log it sure looks like it is doing something continuously (while Watt and kWh are still showing zeros):

Code: Select all

2016-05-27 12:31:24.954 (AotecZstick) Usage (Dishwasher Watt)
2016-05-27 12:31:25.119 (AotecZstick) General/kWh (Dishwasher kWh)
2016-05-27 12:31:25.433 (AotecZstick) Usage (Dishwasher Watt)
2016-05-27 12:31:25.583 (AotecZstick) General/kWh (Dishwasher kWh)
2016-05-27 12:31:26.898 (AotecZstick) Usage (Dishwasher Watt)
2016-05-27 12:31:27.051 (AotecZstick) General/kWh (Dishwasher kWh)
Is this an expected behaviour with default settings?

I think I was able to reduce the interval a bit by changing parameters 43 and 45:

Code: Select all

43. Power reporting frequency:
60
45. Reporting changes in energy consumed by controlled devices:
50
 (actual: 50)
These were originally 30 (seconds for five updates) and 10 (0.1kWh). It now sends an update every half minutes.

But still, while there is absolutely no consumption or load showing (at least on Domoticz side and shouldn't be either as the dishwasher is not running) shouldn't it respect the "
47. Time period between reports on power load and energy consumption" setting which is 1 hour? I have not enable polling.

Appreciate any input on the matter.

p.s. since having a couple of z-wave devices the Domoticz log has basically blown up. If I move across the living room (where there is one Fibaro motion sensor) I get something like this:

Code: Select all

Being new to z-wave, am I doing something wrong to get this kinds of updates or is it all expected? So far seems to work fine, but bit afraid what will happen if I include more nodes... :)

Well, based on the number of replies here (and a few other z-wave related questions) I'm glad to see I'm not the only one having hard time understanding some of the finesses of z-wave :D

Anyhow, the situation is now stable and the update frequency has gone down clearly (still in my opinion more frequent than defined in the configuration). I included another similar wall plug with same default settings and it updates once per hour when idle and usually once in 5-10 minutes with small loads...
