Is there any property administartion planned for domoticz? I mean can an administrator handle the settings while a user (most of the people in a living place) can only use the rest of the system? This will also give the advantage to use the system in smaller offices.

You already can create several users with different authorizations and access to pages. Isn't that sufficient?

You can also grant users access to specific devices. So I think this could be used to achieve you're goal.

How do you configure access to specific devices? I only see how to give access to specific pages.

Go to users, and in the same rol as active, name and rights you will find devices.

Yeah but that is to select if that user has rights to see the whole page of all devices. You can not select individual devices. I guess if you could allow this per room that would be a flexible solution.

Good evening,
i'm interested too.
My need is to allow a list of users to come inside the parking. So I've created an event for a single user and works great.
Problem is that i have 250 tags to allow. So how to create a "you can park inside"list to work with event?

I have created a new user and set devices/tabs to see but every time I try to log in it says incorrect username/password when logging from outside.
Maybe is my device that I have tampered quite a lot with lately....

I tried to add an extra user as viewer today and have the same issue.

Hi,
No I didn't but when I tried on a fresh install on a 2nd Domoticz to connect to it remotely from another Domoticz it did work. So I assumed it was my 1st one that I had messed a fair bit with it.

Mmm I'm still having the same issue.
Wanted to add a user to allow controlicz a way in. However I'm unable to login with a newly created user..

1 have 1 user account (old old ancient) that is able to login... However all newly created accounts are not.

I just tried to create a new one and log in externally with a Tor browser... same problem than before. Incorrect user/password. But I must mention that it is the same machine than before was giving me problems.
Have you tried on a different installation?

This is a new installation on new HW, however, same old DB
Really strange
So 1 user that is already in the DB is working.
I created an additional one with username 'test' and pwd: 'test987' not working.... incorrect user/password.
If I open the DB with sql browser (ok username + pwd is hashed , excellent) the rest of the settings 'Active' , 'Rights', 'TabsEnabled" look the same. Beats me.

Ok, I just tried from outside my network and this way it works. I can create a new user from scratch or copy one and works fine.
Yesterday was trying from within my network, I wonder if it has to do with some conflict with the Settings page of asking for login for any IP not whitelisted?

Hello friends, can you help me?
I want to give limited access to my child in the domoticz - only two switches he can to switch.
I create user "artur" and gave him access to the tabs "switches" and "temperature" only. After that I give him access only several devices:

When user Artur logged in domotics use Mobile Chrome it work correctly:

He can view and can control only two switches.
But if he use app Domotics Lite, he can see and manage more - Events, User variables and Scenes.
How to limit access to user Artur in app Domotics Lite?
