I have a simple setup for my Daughter Bearded Dragon.
LWRF plug socket to turn heating and lighting on and off. Two temperature sensors for the warm end and the cool end. Notifications set to warn if temperatures fall or rise above set limits during the day.
Running Domoticz on Pi3 with RFXtrx433e. LWRF power sockets and dimmer switches. Integrated my existing wirefree alarm PIRs and door contacts with domoticz. Geofencing with Pilot. Harmony Hub. Tado for Heating. Now playing with mysensors.

I'll be looking into this later this year for my Amazon Tree Boas but domoticz & zwave devices seem like a good way to regulate the vivarium
