RFlink not working on Synology

Hi,

I recently discovered that I could connect my Arduino Clone with RFLink to my Synology without problems. I'm a big fan of reducing the number of power consuming devices in my house so I was happy to shutdown my Raspberry. I also ordered another set from the NODO shop for someone else who has the same Synology DS214+.

(Unfortunately) I received a real Arduino, I installed the latest firmware version on the RFlink but when I connect it, it's not recognized by the Synology. The USB port is found but it does not report the firmware version in the Domoticz log.

I found some tips to cut the RESET-EN connection on the Arduino but it was already cut when I received it. I also tried with a resistor on the 5v and reset but didn't change the results.

Who can help me with finding the correct driver for the Arduino 2560 Mega r3 for Synology or does someone have other tips? Are there people who don't have these issues with the genuine Arduino?

Thanks!

1. Are you sure you did a successful RFLink software installation on the Arduino?
2. What DSM version do you use, 5.2 or 6.0 ?
3. What version of domoticz do you tested with?

The Arduino RESET-EN have to be soldered when programming and cut after programming for use on Synology or do the capacitor mod.
I have tested Arduino Mega and clone with success on my Synology DS712+ arch-x86 with DSM5.2 and DSM6.0.

RFLink FAQ

Synology NAS:

Q: What do I need to use RFlink on a Synology NAS?

A: If you want to use RFLink with a Synology NAS you can use:
- an Arduino Mega clone based on CH340 USB/serial chip
In all other cases:
- connect a 10 uF capacitor between reset and ground on the Arduino.
Simply stick the pins of the capacitor in the power connector socket.
When you want to update the firmware of the Arduino, remove the capacitor and reconnect it when done.

Thanks for responding.

The Rflink is working fine on my arduino clone. I uploaded the firmware by using the official Arduino board connected to my laptop. I didn't have to connect the RESET-EN contacts to do that by the way, I think that's odd. I received this board with the RESET-EN unconnected and never connected it during the update.

I tried using a resistor like someone in another post on this forum showed (don't have capacitors at the moment unfortunately) but it didn't make a change.

Either way, I just received answer that I can change the Arduino for a clone. As that one will be plug and play just like mine it's easier for me, also for remotely supporting the installation for someone else.

Thanks!
