I have trouble to find any information about IRL experience for using Aeotec Multisensor 6 in a home with pets, specially cats.
We are in the process of renovating our home and ideally would be to place then sensors in the ceiling.

Will it detect (cat-)motion even when lowering the sensor sensitivity? Whats your experience? Also welcome input for z plus glass break sensor.

my experience is not directly linked to an Aeotec Multisensor but with Fibaro and others.
Whether it's the alarm system or my Fibaros, cats are lovely but they don't play well with PIRs.
When I got my alarm system fitted the security company told that it was 100% pet compliant... Only to discover after my cat woke us up at 6am with the sirens blasting our ears that... They meant dogs, not cats.

A cat will jump if it can. PIRs, as far as I understood, detect a human vs a pet according to the number of "rays" that get interrupted and bounce back.
A dog will stay always on the floor, so it's relatively "easy" to tell a dog vs a human.
Cat can jump and they do. When my cat jumped on the kitchen table, the PIR noticed something of a certain height... That's only because 1 second before she was on the ground and one second later she was in the air. The rays she bounced back in process triggered the alarm. Not nice when you wake up thinking somebody tried to break in.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news... Maybe by avoiding stuff the cat can jump on you'll be ok. That's what I did.

My Fibaro sensors are always triggered by her but I don't mind as I don't use them for security but to have lights automatically on when I walk around the house. Lights automatically switch on and then after a delay the go back off, this only between sunset and sunrise. So she enjoys some light too when it's maybe too dark even for her

Thanks Kappa for your input. Nice explanation about the principles regarding PIRs. It's hard to find a good alternatives to motion sensors. I haven't found any glass break sensors and the magnetics sensors that can be used in windows doesn't seams 100% - if the burglars just smashed the windows without open the window frame, what then..
