Hello,

I installed the rpi from scratch. I added the P1 Smart Meter USB at the hardware option. I tested the USB to serial with the cu (and minicom) command. The output is not readable. Is this normal or should it be readable? I tested with several configurations, 2 stopbits, parity odd / even, etc. No readable output. Is there a better test?

Will the two entries of the P1 be automatically shown up at the devices? Or do i need to add them manually?

And at the dashboard is nothing, also not a picture of the rpi. Every time there is this message: "No favorite devices defined ... (Or communication Lost!)" how can i define my favorite devices?

Any help is much appreciated.

Yes i did, but i can not find the answer. Can you provide me the part with answers to my questions?

Page 8 = how to setup hw
Page 15 = how to setup devices.

Try this first if this Works.

Btw: are you using the sd card img? That's working 100% and is advised voor beginners or people with problems.

ok, i got it working. For me it was a little weird to add a new device to a device. But it is working know. The thing i have noe is the instable output of the P1 itselfs. I have tested with several usb to serial adapters, same rubbish output with the cu or minocom interface. When i test it on my Windows laptop the output is readable and stable.

I got output in the dashboard of domiticz. But at the logging of Domoticz there are a few entries, i was expecting every 30 second a log entry.

Any ideas?

i have the same problem if i Use minicom to read the data From my meter and its all working fine.
but when i add the Hardware Device P1 smart meter USB There are no Devices Created in the utility Tab.
i have also test this in Domoticz on a windows Machine en there it Works Fine. but i want to use it on my raspberry.

Problem Solved.

My RS232 Converter is defect.
