use remote control device as input

Hello all,

first of all I want to say that I love the Domoticz software and the setup was very easy and straight forward. Ive installed it on my RPi2 and it works like a charm. At home I use my phone or tablet to control my devices (I am not yet using Z Wave so its one way communication).

But now for the real question: Ive used the learn option at the switches page to get the ID of my remote. Ive remembered the ID and I then created a new light using that ID to turn in on and off with Domoticz. But my wife (youve got to love them ;) ) keeps using the remote controller that was provided, and because its a one way commmunication I dont see if a light was switched on.

Does anybody know if it is posible to use domoticz to keep listening and check if the remote controller is used, and if so, change the status of the light within domoticz ?

Best regards,
Appel982

Hi apple982,

I think you can do it this way: learn the code of the remote control to Domoticz and add it as a slave to your new light switch. That way your GUI will be updated whenever the remote is used, when it receives that signal.

well ive done it almost your way. what i did is let domoticz learn the remote control signal. ive them created an event where i do the same tasks as what the remote does. it works well like this. it might not be thencorrect way butnthe light statusses are correct now haha
