Disable Kodi shutdown function

I have seen the discussion in that users would like to be able to shutdown possibility for Kodi.

But just wondering if it's possible to make the shutdown function configurable.

The Kodi machines (OSMC installed on a raspberry pi) in my house are configured to be always on. (they should never shutdown/power off). So what happens now is that ones in a while that one of the users accidentally touches the Kodi icon on the Kodi medio player button, which results in a shutdown of Kodi.

Is it possible to disable this shutdown functionality?

Why do you need a switch if they are always on?

Hide it by putting a $ in front of the name, or mark it as protected.

I use the remote control icon on this button.

Thanks for reminding me of the Protect option. I have enabled that and that's good enough for me.

Dear all,

Is there a way to make Kodi shut-down based on a timer. The timer option on the switch is missing.
I tried adding Kodi to a Group, and have the group shutdown on a timer, but that does not work unfortunately.

Any clever idea's ?

Thanks a lot - Jeroen

@JeroenL,

Are you using the native support or the python plugin? If you are using the plugin turn on debugging and post the log.

Dear Dnpwwo,

Am currently using the native plugin from Domoticz.

@JeroenL,

The plugin has more functionality and better debugging. Can you try switching to that and posting a log?
