Locked topic - question for admins

Hi,
I'm a new domoticz user, (plus a new RFCTRX433E user), and really like the software
I've posted a few threads as I try and figure out how things work and have been trying to search appropriately, but a few days ago I posted a question about PIR (passive infrared ie motion) sensors. The thread was locked on the basis I hadn't done my research
I apologies if there was insufficient info, but wonder if you could offer some tips as to what I missed?
The thread was at viewtopic.php?f=44&t=10633
I searched for "PIR" "motion" "passive", and specifically was looking for something I could use with the rfxtrx433e device & domoticz ie the *combination* was supported. This is more an rfx question than domoticz, but there seem plenty of knowledgeable users aorund here. I also scanned through all the posts in the rfxcom forum
What did I miss/should have done better?
- did I miss top keywords
- was I missing the point of that forum
- did I not explain the question thoroughly enough
Many thanks, very welcoming of feedback & totally appreciate the need for moderation
Nigel.
