Domoticz compatible with USB network servers?

Hello,

I am new to domoticz, working fine by the way. I have a simple Windows based setup in combination with AEON Labs Gen5 controller (USB).
Now I am thinking of hooking up my smart meter , but do not have options to cross the distance from downstairs hallway to upstairs attic pc.
I would have to buy a Raspberry (or similar setup) to run domoticz on that and attach p1 converter cable to the usb interface. However is it also possible to acquire a USB ethernet hub that i can place near the smart meter and router and attach a p1 converter cable to that? Would Domoticz on my pc be able to detect the attached converter cable through remote shared USB port? IF not than I will stick to another plan.

Thanks in advance!

If it works from windows, you could always create a script that reads the values and puts them in Domoticz via a json call

@jannl, do have a script that does that, or is there a topic with an example?

not that I know of, I do not do that my self.
You also can setup the raspberry as a Domoticz slave
