Is there already a simple way to get removed devices back?

Post by vandamage »

Hi,

Searching the forum I find some people having the same issue as I have, you remove a device just for testing how domoticz works and then.... the device seams to get kinda like blacklisted and will never show up again.
All threats that I found are over a year old and go through restoring clean database or backup.
has the software been improved already to get these kind of "issues" solved in a few clicks?

Hi,
If you go into "Setup", "Devices", and then click on the little blue icon of the switch description, you can turn it "unused", but it will still be there... When you need it again, just do the opposite.
Won't this do it ?

Depending om how you deleted it, you may have to check the accept new devices box in the settings page

I didn't set it to unused but selected it and clicked the recycle bin, so I really removed it. It's a weather station somewhere nearby my home, it's not mine but it showed up. So now that I deleted it I can't get it back, even with the "accept new" option and "allow for 5 min" on. I tested the same with a switch, simply removed it and now can only get it back by using the learn button, it will not show-up automatically which works for all new items I buy. The new items; I simply power them on, push "allow new devices for 5 min." and they show up.

I don't have a DB backup from before, so can't use that either, think it will be a re-install to solve it, or someone needs to come up with a tip that works :)

??? Maybe you can't get it back because your neighbour removed his weatherstation ???

Nope, that's why I wrote that I also tested by removing a switch that is my own device
