Re: Domoticz App for Windows 10 UWP
pretty standard: use ssl on port 443, no credentials. just out of curiosity, how does the cortana side work ie how to I activate things? Being dutch, I had to set cortana to an english region/language...
Very promising! Thanks for picking this up. On my windows 10 surface 4 pro, I use all the standard settings (windows defender/firewall).

I tried installing Windows 10 Mobile on my phone last night but it failed, am gonna try again today.
Some Cortana examples:
Domoticz, switch on kitchen light
Domoticz, switch off kitchen light
Domoticz, turn on kichen light
Domoticz, set porch light to 60 percent

Unfortunately not, Cortana is only available in the following countries:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... #v1h=tab01
Nothing I can do about it until Microsoft adds the Netherlands, or gives us the option to add languages instead of countries.

Re: Domoticz App for Windows 10 UWP
Good afternoon,
I'm very interested in using this app for the same -Cortana- reasons. However I cannot get it to work. I have a pretty standard Raspberry Pi Domoticz installation but I cannot get past 'Test Connection'. It prompts me for checking the firewall where I can see the app being allowed both private and public. When not using the 'Test Connection' and trying to load devices the app crashes. Using the 'json test' I see my devices but using the same IP:Port doesn't give a connection in the app. Hope that you can give me direction.
Thanks, Mark

Thx for testing, the crash when you press Load Devices, without testing the connection first must be a new one. I only introducted the LAN, WAN and Test Connection stuff in the last version.
Also new in this version is the Debug option at the bottom of the settings screen, can you try enabling that setting, then test the connection and then leave and go back to the settings screen. See if there is a error message below the debug setting.
Its still sort of a mystery to me what is causing this, so the more data the easier it might be to track down this problem.
What we know sofar:
- Only happens on Desktop Devices, Mobile devices even in the same netwerk don't have the connection problem.
- Connection Settings are correct, otherwise the mobile device would also have this problem.
- In one case it was Mcafee Internet Security blocking the connection thats why it now promps to check the firewall.
Since it only happens on some Dekstop Devices I'm thinking it might be some security setting that only applies to dekstops.

Thank you all for testing and reporting back! I am positive that I have tracked down the problem.
I managed to replicate the problem on my own development PC, and fix it (It was something silly
).
I will push a new version to the store tonight, and it takes like 17 hours to be published to store. So I am hoping it will be in the store tomorrow morning.
Other goodies in the upcoming version:
- Kodi Media Player remote
- Support for protected Switches.
- Some minor fixes

Thats very nice to hear
. The connection bug was my main concern.
You might need some support with getting Cortana working, I think you are the first one trying Cortana.

Re: Domoticz App for Windows 10 UWP
When you start the App with Cortana Enabled, you should see a little hickup, this is Cortana's VCD file loading.
The Load Devices button is more important for Cortana users since this is the only time names are written to Cortana (Its quite slow).
For the normal VCD file, commands look like:
Domoticz Switch on {device name}
Alternate VCD file:
Its Me Switch on {device name}

Re: Domoticz App for Windows 10 UWP
The alternate is just what I needed, Domoticz is (in my case) 'translated' by Cortana into 'Domo teach' so the alternate 'It's me' is better understood. Furthermore I re-installed the app in order to have the right order (I think) in steps: Enable Cortana before loading devices (BTW. a possibility for re-loading devices would have been handy).Sneezydevil wrote:When you start the App with Cortana Enabled, you should see a little hickup, this is Cortana's VCD file loading.

And then...I got my wife surprised with turning a lamp by voice. Great

I have problems with some devices but it probably needs some more experimenting. For the time being a great result so thank you very much.
NB. There is small spelling error in Settings: 'Load Cotana VCD...' iso. 'Load Cortana VCD...'
Thanks, Mark

Re: Domoticz App for Windows 10 UWP
Just found another 'feature': I have a dimmer switch that, when the app is active, will be dimmed back every 10 seconds (the refresh interval I assume) automatically. This does not happen when the app page is one of Rooms, Devices, Logs or Settings. On all other pages the lamp is dimming back to eventually 9.
Any idea how that can interfere?
Thanks, Mark

Does it keep going down? If so can you look up the type of dimmer and the maxdimmervalue?Doler wrote:Just found another 'feature': I have a dimmer switch that, when the app is active, will be dimmed back every 10 seconds (the refresh interval I assume) automatically. Oh and just in case you get more devices, the "Load Devices" button doubles as a "Reload Devices" button, maybe I will change the name to (Re)load Devices.

Re: Domoticz App for Windows 10 UWP
Dimmer is POPP 123580: Max level is 100% (in Domoticz). Initially the dim level is set to 40%. After the MHA app is opened, the dim level is changed with minus 1% until 0 (zero) is reached. After about 30 seconds the dim level changes to 45% and the whole process is repeated and keeps on going while the app is open. I'm using default settings for the dimmer.Sneezydevil wrote:Does it keep going down? If so can you look up the type of dimmer and the maxdimmervalue?

Re: Domoticz App for Windows 10 UWP
I think I know what is happening but whitout having a similar dimmer I can't test if my fix works.
I think this is what happens the scale I use and what domoticz uses is off by one, so the app calculates 40% but domoticz reports 39% then the app detects this as a change and lowers the value by one, and confirms this to domoticz. But since its still off by 1 domoticz lowers its value by 1 and the app detects this as a change again, and round and round we go.
I can't find a dummy switch that has maxLevelInt 100, only 15 and my normal dimmers all have 15 aswell.
I will push out a build that might fix this shortly :p. Sorry for the inconvenience.
If this does not work, you might have to send me a couple of example json values for the dimmer.
//Edit
Uploading the possible fix to the store as we speak, fingers crossed that it works.

No reason to apologize, you're doing a fine job. And it's of no inconvenience to me, I'd like to help to improve the app where and whenever I can. I'll wait for the update and test it. Keep you updated.Sneezydevil wrote: I will push out a build that might fix this shortly :p. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Domoticz App for Windows 10 UWP
It looks like the new upload solved the dimmer problem. One detail left: when starting the app the dimmer level will be set one level lower. But the good thing is that it stays there unless you keep starting the app again. This could become a problem, being it a minor one.
Thanks, Mark

Yeah fixing the reversed wakeup light "feature" was my main goal. However it is weird that starting the app over and over would make it go down again.Doler wrote:It looks like the new upload solved the dimmer problem. I would expect the following:
After startup level = 40
After 10 seconds level = 39
After next startup level = 40
Will have to do some testing with some different dimmers to get this just right.
I was wondering something else, is the level correct?
