Just removed Pilot from my iPad, as it keeps crashing (tap icon, screen goes black, returns to app screen) ever since I upgraded iOS to 11.0.1. I’ve tried deleting and installing the app - same.

After upgrading to iOS 11.0 (still using 11.0 and haven't yet updated to 11.02), I had to delete Pilot and re-install it. Since then, the geo-fencing doesn't seem to work 100% as it did before. Sometimes it doesn't 'see' me leaving the house or entering the house. Is this related to the new iOS or something that has to be fixed in Pilot, or.....just me.... ?

After upgrading to iOS 11 I had similar problems. These were caused by the phone not switching properly from Wifi to Mobile Data when leaving Wifi coverage. Seems to be specific to Vodafone (Business). After updating the APN setting from live.vodafone.com to office.vodafone.com problem was resolved.

But these problems were since iOS11.01 right? I'm still on iOS11.0 and don't recognise the issue of the switching problems. But I can check next time I leave home. Furthermore, I am with KPN.

I have ios 11.0.2 and domoticz v3.8552 beta, I have the same problem, when I leave home, the virtual sensor won't turn off. The sensor will turn on when i arrive home.
I have tried to change the setting, but I can not select the sensor anymore.

I've tested with another apps like hue, ifttt both work well.

For this, you have to go to All switches once and then return to the screen where you can select what switch to be selected.

But I do recognise the problem of not 100% switching when leaving home..... Problem that has to be fixed by Apple I guess.

I’m using an iPhone 6, IOS 11.0.2 with Pilot 2.2.1
No problems here like you describe.
I’m able to use location services, select switches, etc....

Yeah, well, it isn't 100% atm. And it was when I was still on iOS10. I went ahead and updated to iOS11.02 hoping Apple already resolved this problem. At least it is no problem with Pilot.

I have 2 iphone 6 en 1 ipad air with iOS 11.0.2, all three devices have the same problem, geofencing does not work well on arrival home, and unable to choose the switch.
now i use apple homekit automation to turn on/off the virtual switch and that works perfectly.
For the time being, my problem has been solved, I wait for the next release of pilot, hoping that the pilot will work again.

I had the same problems with Pilot. The app keeps crashing on both my iPhone and iPad. The problem started because there where no switches for geofencing and I tried reinstalling.

I solved 1 problem though. I configured Pilot first (IP server). After that I restored my purchase, this seemed to be the trick.
The geofencing problem still exists, that sucks.

Can I keep the Domoticz IP exclusively on internal network or should it be visible as public ip to make in home/out home switch works?

Pilot app for geo fencing and Domoticz on Rpi

Problem solved!

I've installed the latest Pilot app (in full) and can get access to my RPi-Domoticz with it. Even from the work place, etc.

I've set up a switch per the manual, that sends an e-mail when I toggle it manually. Again also from the work place.

That switch is selected per the manual for location services in Pilot.

Regretfully I don't get the e-mail message when I leave or enter the house.

I do get a notification on my iPhone that I've left the house, but just not the e-mail.

Can someone perhaps inform me what I might be doing wrong.

I'm running iOS 11.0.3 on a iPhone 6S, the Domoticz is the latest stable version for Raspberry Pi.

Got it to run; made another switch, again per manual, then connected that to the location, per manual and this time it worked. Great!!!

As many of you, I'm experiencing problems with GeoFencing in combination with Pilot. Trying to figure out what is going wrong I've been reading the posts and trying to solve the situation. This is what I've been doing and the results of that.

App Crashing after installing:
- First install APP (v2.2.1)
- Go to the Data screen and enter your server information
- Go to the Settings Screen and unlock / restore purchases
- After that you can use the app, without crashing

Geofence:
- After update to ios 11.x no more Geofence functionality and/or not able to select switch
- Fresh install of iPhone -> no solution
- Update to IOS 11.1 -> no solution
- Reinstall PIlot app -> no solution

Yesterday I had an issue with my Domoticz crashing (Domoticz latest Stable Version on Raspberry Pi). The issue was triggered by a plugin, so I've tried to solve this issue by updating Domoticz to the latest Beta. This didn't solve my issue with the plugin and of course I checked if this solved the problem with Pilot Geofence. Badly not.

- Update Domoticz to latest Beta -> no solution

So I've removed the installed plugin and discoverd that with the latest Domoticz Beta some other issues where playing, so I've updated Domoticz back to the latest Stable version.

- Reversed Domoticz back to latest Stable version
- Test PIlot Geofence -> WORKING!

Now I can see all my switches again in the Geofence part of Pilot and can select one to switch.
After testing, I concluded that my complete functionality is back again !!!!
I don't know if this works for everyone, but no shooting is no hit.

I share this, so I hope it works for you also and maybe Patrick Ferreira can do something with this information and solve this in the Pilot app for the current and future versions.

Ok, took the iphone of my wife (iPhone 7) and tried the same -> not working!
So I don't know it anymore and have no clue where to look else than in the Pilot app.

@patoo77, is there a way you can solve this problem?
If I can help by testing or something else, just let me know. The availability of Camera and Geofence was the main reason I 'bought' the application.

Since iOS11 the reliability of geofencing in Pilot dropped below an acceptable value. It was nearly 100% before, but now (currently on iOS11.1) it's far from reliable. When I leave home, it often doesn't register me leaving, and the same thing happens when I arrive at home. I constantly have to check and that's not what one wants when using an iPhone.

Is this something with Pilot, does Pilot have to be adjusted for iOS11? I already deleted and installed Pilot a few times from scratch to no avail.

Same issue here (an up-to-date iPhone 7). Geofencing was the main reason to buy pilot

I tried using the iBeacon geofencing functionallity but can't seem to get it to work.

In pilot I can enter the details (ie. UUID, major minor ...) but when I click the save button, the app just crashes.

Same over here. I'm using Pilot for a long time already and haven't had any issues at all. However, since the update to IOS11 it is terrible. My wife and I both have an iPhone, mine (iPhone 6 iOS11 T-mobile) is working ok but is not as responsive as it used to be. My wife has a iPhone 5S (IOS11.0.2 Vodafone) and this one is not working at all anymore. I've tried to reinstall the app, but this has only made it worse, now the virtual switch is not selectable anymore, also if I go to "all switches" first, it's only showing my server address. Some help would be appreciated, geofencing is the reason I bought this app. Thanks a lot!

Ps: it's my first post and it is not the most positive one. I am however very pleased with Domoticz, I use it for 2 years now and i'm very happy with it. Thanks to all who make this possible!
