You have to use this repository
https://github.com/domoticz/machinon which is updated last january.

I use the Machinon Theme; but I think the new energy dashboard is not working within this theme right? Anyone got an idea how to enable this within Machinon?

I'm using Machinon aswell and by the looks of it, the new energy dashboard is not available in Machion.
By the way, you can just browser to the link to access the energy dashboard:
https://LINK/#/Energy

Should not be that difficult to add the Energy dashboard to the file settings_page.js

And create a PR so everybody can enjoy it.

It was indeed fairly simple to create an extra button in the settings menu. Copied an existing line as a new line in the settings_page.js file, changed it's values as shown below and appended the file where you want it to be in the menu. Example:

Looked at the icons that are in the Machinon Theme and placed this file (in my example the "current48_On.png" which was in another directory) in the folder /images/settings .. and done

Nice, Thx!! QQ: the energy dash does not work well with the dark theme as both background and text are white(ish). Can that be changed?
