Re: Fibaro Dimmer 2 FGD-212 supported? New type!
Good news for those with offpeak ripple tone issue's.
I received this email via Fibaro support.
We are currently testing the new OTS module firmware updates as a closed Beta. This issue is noted in the changelog for the Dimmer 2 upgrades. Specifically…
“Reduction of stroboscopic-effect for dimers affected with Ripple Control signal”
This should resolve your issue once this becomes publicly available. Due to the success we have had so far, I’m expecting this to be released within the next 14 days.
Now I'll have to workout how I'll get the firmware updated on these dimmers.

yesterday installed the FGD-212 with 8 Philips 'warm glow' 4w LED lights. Dimming works without bypass but i also get the random flicker (with lights at 40%). With or without bypass i get thesame flicker. I ordered 5 of these at amazon.de; going to return 4 of them now i still can and order at least one qubino (i have a 3 wire connection in my box)

Try to install the fibaro dimmer without the blue wire. There can be some fluctuations on the blue wire.

Ok will do that, for now i have installed the dimmer like this;
FGD212 in 3-wire setup without FGB002:
(and)
FGD212 in 3-wire setup with FGB002:
Both setups dim my Phillips warm glow LED lamps perfectly but cause the occasional fluctuations...
Tonight i am going to wire it like this, to see if that solves anything
FGD212 in 2-wire setup without FGB002:
(or)
FGD212 in 2-wire setup with FGB002:
And if not, i will try to change the setup to a Qubino dimmer.

If have a Dimmer 2 where I get slight glow off 1 of the 4 GU10 LED spot bulbs so I've ordered a Bypass 2.
Am I right in thinking I'll need to recalibrate after adding the bypass ?

yes you will need to recalibrate; go to setup > hardware > select 'setup' next to your zwave usb device; go the the specific device and set parameter 13 (Force auto-calibration) to "Start auto-calibration of the load with Fibaro Bypass"

That worked great thanks - The Bypass2 was simple to install and now I have no more glowxces wrote:yes you will need to recalibrate; go to setup > hardware > select 'setup' next to your zwave usb device; go the the specific device and set parameter 13 (Force auto-calibration) to "Start auto-calibration of the load with Fibaro Bypass"

Re: Fibaro Dimmer 2 FGD-212 supported? New type!
Is it possible to connect the FGD212 directly to the lamp and not having a "physical switch", my plan was to use WallC-2 http://www.z-wave.me/index.php?id=30 as the main controller, and domoticz as secondary/automatic controller. But as i read more about it seems like my plan aint working,
But on second thoughts it wouldnt be safe either to not have a "good old switch" on the cable to cut the electricity if something should happen.

Of course that's possible. You should use association to connect the wall switch with the dimmer. And you also can use the dimmer without a physical switch.Larsja wrote:Is it possible to connect the FGD212 directly to the lamp and not having a "physical switch", my plan was to use WallC-2 http://www.z-wave.me/index.php?id=30 as the main controller, and domoticz as secondary/automatic controller. Ok; Fibardo still had fluctuations issue, with blue wire, without it and also with bypass. Qubino also has it so it has to do something with my electrical net.

Adding one (Philips) halogen lamp of 20w to the mix did not help either, including switching one Philips warmglow LED for a non warmglow philips led. This was all performed on the qubino dimmer by the way; tonight i am going to switch the qubino back for the fibaro (with and without blue) and see if that helps with the added halogen bulb.

Today I installed my first Zwave, Fibaro Dimmer 2. I have no idea what all Devices that popped up is.
But i am missing Power Meter kWh. I have Watts which is right now, but I want total kWh. Will it pop up later or do I have to do something?
I have it installed with 2 wire, 1 switch on S1. Controlling 3 Halogen ~25 watts each.
Setting 50=10%, 52=3600, 53=10

I installed a Dimmer 2 today and had same problem. Min:7 and Max 70. I have ~25 watts x 3. When I chose 98% it switched off and after 2 seconds it went back to 97% which was the selected value just before it switched off.ztocken wrote:Did you ever solve this?loyske wrote:Those are set automatically by the calibration (min 7% max 41%)mbliek wrote:For the slider issue you should set the minimal and maximum dimming levels in the dimmer 2 parameters.
But i wonder if i can correct this in Domoticz, because the slider in Domoticz is using the same values as the dimmer 2 parameters. So above 41 the slider has reached the maximum of the dimmer so going to 100% is useless.
I have the same issue, the calibration set paremeter #2 to 70%, but i can still move the slider over 70%, and around 98% the light turns off.
One thing i noticed is that without the bypass i dont have this issue.
Solution is to change Max to 68 then you can have 100%(ON), i dont know why but it worked for me

All other users with a Fibaro Dimmer 2, do you know what all parameters means?Flopp wrote:Today I installed my first Zwave, Fibaro Dimmer 2. I have no idea what all Devices that popped up is.

Do you have kWh-parameter?

Yes I have subtype KWh meters for the Fibers 2. Usually they are on ID xxx01Flopp wrote:All other users with a Fibaro Dimmer 2, do you know what all parameters means?Flopp wrote:Today I installed my first Zwave, Fibaro Dimmer 2. I have no idea what all Devices that popped up is.

On the Domoticz dashboard this device then shows both actual power and usage.
I believe with default settings you only receive a usage report every 0,1 KWh so perhaps that did not yet happen or not while accepting new hardware. So you could try to change the update frequency to every 5 seconds and then include new hardware to see if that helps.
I too would like to know what all these devices (besides 2 switches, 2 levels, power and usage) do!

Just for information. When the first kWh has reached Domoticz it seems that Power Meter doesn't get updated anymore but Unknown still get updated. I think Power Meter and kWh get merged.
Could it be like this?

Funny, now I think of it, I had the same effect. But only with a new module I installed recently. The old modules keep updating the power device. But as you wrote, de KWh device on the webinterface shows both KWh usage and power. This looks like a bug in Domoticz to me.

Hi,
I installed a dimmer but unfortunately although it is present in the material , it does not appear in the devices . After one hour only the device for the information of the energy consumption have emerged. If someone could explain to me how to bring up the interuptor light in devices that would be nice.
Thank you

Please explain in more detail, I dont understand what you mean with material and interuptor?Lexfontes wrote:Hi,
