Python 3.7.3 is fine.

I'm running:
Version: 4.11215
Build Hash: 3f2677818
Compile Date: 2019-08-19 20:27:46
dzVents Version: 2.4.28
Python Version: 3.7.3 (default, Apr 3 2019, 05:39:12) [GCC 8.2.0]
and it runs for months at a time

hi all,

i have the plugin installed and it works perfectly but i have a question.
i deleted a speaker group but the plugin has aparently not detected that and tries to connect to the group but obviously fails
but i now get my log spammed with these messages and because of that my domoticz crashes twice a day:

Code: Select all

2020-01-15 21:57:10.898 Status: (chromecast) Announce is now: ConnectionStatus(status='CONNECTING', address=NetworkAddress(address='192.168.16.42', port=42276))
2020-01-15 21:57:10.902 Status: (chromecast) Announce is now: ConnectionStatus(status='FAILED', address=NetworkAddress(address='192.168.16.42', port=42276))
can someone point me in the direction on how to remove this device?

My SD-card broke and I had to reinstall my RPI. Now its seems to work fine. Only thing is that I had to downgrade zeroconf to 0.24.3.
Version: 4.11605

Compile Date: 2020-01-08 23:12:15
dzVents Version: 2.5.5
Python Version: 3.7.3 (default, Apr 3 2019, 05:39:12) [GCC 8.2.0]
Edit: And now it crashed after an hour

Did you try zeroconf 0.23.0?

now the google home wont say anything, just the "bleep" but no sound, i get this error:

2020-02-27 11:32:37.185 Error: (Google Devices) Invalid web request received, file '/home/pi/domoticz/plugins/Domoticz-Google-Plugin/Messages/ccfbbec1-5601-5e0f-b75c-ccca6708b665.mp3' does not exist

i have noticed that after a restart of the plugin the voice notification only once, then i need to restart the plugin again for it to work once.

@tjabas,

Unfortunately Google had not published the 'broadcast' API the last time I checked but you can create a group in Google home that has all your devices in it and send messages to that.

I haven't had issues with the voice messages but bear in mind that the text to voice is done via the internet everytime and writen to the folder of your Domoticz device so it could be connection issues or file permissions

Installed everything as per github readme. All chromecasts/google home devices discovered and configured in Domoticz devices.

I also configured one device to play notifications. First time I play a notification, it works fine. Subsequent notifications case my
google home speaker to activate, (it goes bing-bong, the volume indicators light up), but no notification played. Sometimes I hear the beginning of my
notification, but that is cut short for some reason.

Permissions seem to be fine on the 'messages' directory and the mp3 file is being generated as I can see it appear before plugin.py deletes it.

Currently enabling debug and poking about when I get time hoping to shed some light on what is happening here.

Could this be an software issue with google home speaker by any chance? It seems odd that a notification works first time after reboot, but subsequent ones fail

I have the same problem, notification works just once, needs a reboot for it to work only once again.

There is another Google ChromeCast plugin that works better, i dont have any link right now, but Google it.

Something seems to go wrong with the installation. I did exactly what said on the Installation readme;
Go in your Domoticz directory using a command line and open the plugins directory.
Run sudo pip3 install pychromecast should be version 3.2.0 or greater
Run sudo pip3 install gtts
Run: git clone https://github.com/dnpwwo/Domoticz-Google-Plugin.git
Restart Domoticz.
But In the web UI, in the hardware dropdown there is no entry called "Google Devices - Chromecast and Home".

I saw that for updating you need to do this:
Go in your Domoticz directory using a command line and open the plugins directory then the Domoticz-Google-Plugin directory.
Run: git pull
When I got into my plugins directory, there is no Domoticz-Google-Plugin directory, but: There is one in my Domoticz directory. This directory contains GoogleHomeMini.zip and ChromecastUltra.zip.

What did I do wring so the directory didn't end up inn the right place and do these files still need to be zipped or did the installation nog go right?

Did you change the the directory to domoticz/plugins?
I made that mistake once.

But this plugin doesnt work anyway, for me i only get a voice notification once, then the notification stops to Come, ony one beep is heard.

I have tride to install this plugin several times, and The same problem every time.
