I had indeed to remove also /var/packages/UsbSerialDrivers
Thanks a lot.

I am now trying to see if I can use domoticz with my Aeotec USB stick.
Should it be detected automatically ?
Try to do a dmesg and look if the stick is detected.

Sometimes you have to restart synology or only domoticz, but different solution has worked 8-)

Well, I tried the 4.2 package you compiled, without and with the USB serial drivers.
For both, I rebooted the NAS after installation, before to plug the USB stick.

I still have the same error message, and nothing is added to dmesg.

I will install a Windows version of domoticz on my laptop tomorrow and test if the key is working. Maybe I have a hardware problem...

I do not know if it make sense, but once plugged, the USB stick blinks as follow:
blue (1 sec) - off (0.5 sec) - almost white (1 sec) - off (0.5 sec) - red (1 sec) - off (0.5 sec) - ...

I installed Domoticz on a recent Windows 7.
Then ran domoticz.
Then plugged the stick.
The Aeotec GEN5 USB stick is still not recognized.

I can see this window for long:
Image
and finnaly I had the message 'no driver found".

Before to return the ley to seller, can you confirm that it should be detected automatically? Should I do something I missed?

I also have the blinking on my Z-stick Gen5, so i think this is normal.
I don't use Windows, so I tested to install domoticz on my Windows 10 in parallels and z-stick Gen5 working ok :)
It is detected as COM3

I did not install any drivers, but you can download drivers here:

Yeah !
Windows 8 and 10 does not need any additional driver.
But Windows 7 does.

So I installed this driver, and I could finally install the stick on Windows.
Domoticz can now see it !
Thanks :)

Well, it is not such a good news, it means I miss something on my Synology...

Even if I do not have the needed kernel module, I should see a new message in dmesg when plugging in the stick. Right?
I did not find the "lspci" command on my DSM-4.2. Is there an equivalent command?

On my DS712+ Z-Stick Gen5 using cdc-acm driver.
cdc_acm 5-1:1.0: ttyACM1: USB ACM device.
I have compiled domoticz_88f6281-4.3_2.0.3780-7.spk for you to test including cdc-acm driver.

Thanks again :)
I uninstalled the older one and installed this one.
I didn't know if I should keep the serial drivers, so I kept them.
It was still not recognized.
I uninstalled the serial drivers with no more success.

I'm out of ideas why this does not work on your NAS .
Do you use USB Hub ?
If so, test without USB Hub .

I do not use USB hub.
There is only a brand new 10m USB cable between the NAS and the key.
I tried without it at the beginning, but my last attempts were made with it. Maybe can I try again without this cable.

After some readings, it seems that I should see a ttyACMx in the port list when I select OpenZwave USB.
I understand that the last package you provided includes USB ACM driver, but the package is compiled for DSM-4.3. Can't it be a problem?
Isn't there some other logs I may gather to understand what happens?

There may be conflict if you use both UsbSerialDrivers and domoticz package with drivers .
Delete both packages and restart NAS .
Then install only this package including cdc-acm driver :domoticz_88f6281-4.2_2.0.3798-7.spk http://jadahl.dscloud.me/sspks/packages ... 3798-7.spk

In the info center on NAS should also see the devices attached to NAS.
USBDevice - Sigma Design, Inc. is my z-stick.
FT232 USB-Serial. is my RFXCOM
HL-340 is my RFLink

OK, i have uninstalled, rebooted, installed this new one, and rebooted (never know...).
I have to wait to be home to unplug and plug the stick and test. I do not have remote access to domoticz yet.
However I have checked my information center, and I can see the Sigma Design USB device. I believe... :D

I did the same without the stick plugged.
Uninstall package
reboot
install the new package (domoticz_88f6281-4.2_2.0.3798-7.spk)
reboot
start domoticz
Plug the zstick

Still no /dev/ttyAMC device in the "serial port" list.
Only /dev/ttyUSB0 to /dev/ttyUSB7. None of them is working.

Something prevents the stick from being viewed by domoticz

I also uninstalled any other (non-related) packages on my Synology (sabnzbd, sab2, perl, python).
Reinstalled domoticz as above, but still the same result.
The Stick is seen by the DSM, but not by Domoticz

Sorry, but I have No idea why this is not working on your NAS.
Can you check if you have: /usr/local/domoticz/rules.d
60-synocommunity.domoticz.rules

#rules for USB ACM serial devices
KERNEL=="ttyACM*", ACTION=="add", MODE="0666"
KERNEL=="ttyUSB*", ACTION=="add", MODE="0666"

Yes, I have exactly that content in /usr/local/domoticz/rules.d/60-synocommunity.domoticz.rules

As a last try, I will give a try with the package from synocommunity, which is quite old. We will see if there is any difference...

The old package from synocommunity does not support OpenZWave.
Can you check if you have this modules:
/lib/modules/usbserial.ko and
/lib/modules/ftdi_sio.ko

If you run lsmod
The last line should show something like this:
usbcore 176292 17 ch341,snd_usb_hiface,snd_usb_audio,snd_usbmidi_lib,cdc_acm,pl2303,cp210x,ftdi_sio,usbserial,usbhid,usblp,usb_storage,etxhci_hcd,xhci_hcd,ehci_pci,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd
usb_common 1488 1 usbcore

I think you are missing cdc_acm.
Try this: insmod /lib/modules/cdc-acm.ko

Indeed...

insmod: can't insert '/lib/modules/cdc_acm.ko': No such file or directory
