Ok, might very well be you need at least v5 bridge for this to work. I Should have mentioned I do not have any experience about older bridges than v5. Can you still control the RGBW bulbs with your v4 bridge?RayAmsterdam wrote:Nautilus wrote:RayAmsterdam wrote: How do you pair the new lamp with the old bridge?
Doesn't work for me. I think I have v4.

Old RGBW en white bulb works with v6 bridge (you have to choose the good remote on the smartphone app (milight 3.0 on android))

Does domoticz works already with the V6 bridge?

Not,
Main dev doesn't get the bridge and don't need it, he isn't agree with Milight politic to introduce a new api who allow to drive new product, and even if now the api is complete he will not add it soon he got lot of importante thing to do before
That mean that you have 5 choices :
- don't buy it if you want to pair with domoticz
- add it on domoticz as this an open source project
- wait for the new python plugin project to add it
- move to another Home Automation who already works with Milight V6
- wait for a real integration from some one else.

Option 7:
- Wait for the new Wifi Bridge v7
Coming Soon - 2017 (backwards app compatible with both v5 and v6, unlimited zones, offline scheduled timers, two way statefullness, RGBW v5 commands mapping to any DualWhite, RGBW, or RGBW/WW/CW bulbs)

Option 7 sounds good. But I'll hope the Dev likes it too then.

Well, I hope de dev finds not only some time, but also courage to step over his grieves and will help the existing domoticz users with a V6 box, and all future users who will by milight, as it is likely they will get a V6 box too.
If necessary I am willing to make mine available for the dev if he needs it for development.

Hi,
Completely new to Domoticz here. I just installed it on my Synology to see if Domoticz can control my CW/WW milight LED strips. I can get it to turn on and off alright, but I don't know how to set color temperature or alter brightness. Do I have to trigger a script?

Re: Mi-Light / LimitlessLED / Applamp
Also, I got an idea on how to get around the limitation of the dual white controllers, that they can't go to a precise brightness or color value. Can't I just use a RGB strip and connect, say, Red to Cold White and Blue to Warm White, leaving green hanging? Could that make for more precise adjustments?
(Mostly I want to be able to set scenes where at 7:30 PM it fades down to low warm light, at 11 PM it fades to minimum brightness. At 8 AM fade up to max brightness Cold White.

Re: Mi-Light / LimitlessLED / Applamp
To everyone who's having issues with the Milight v6.0, it is working in Domoticz now!
To get it working:
1. http://yourdomoticzserver:8080
2. Navigate to Setup>Settings
3. Under Software Updates set the area that says 'Stable' to 'Beta'
4. Setup>Check for Update
5. After update completes, reboot server, clear browser cache, and re-navigate to your domoticz server.
As of writing this the version 3.6722 and above have built in v6 support. I could not access the v6 options until I cleared my browser cache, so your welcome if that ends up being your particular headache as well. Once you've updated simply add hardware and select the "LimitlessLED/Milight" option as you did before. When you click the blue, 'select mode' button there will be 2 options, the top is for v4/5 or v6, the bottom now includes the RGBWW as well. I assume this will eventually be the stable release, so if the version is that or higher, this comment may be obsolete future man reading this.
As of writing this I have not figured out yet how to do nightlight, or select disco mode. As soon as I figure it out, I'm totally doing a 'for noobs' guide for this. Any help on that front would be highly appreciated. This is a very highly ranked google thread for milight function within domoticz, and I hope this comment helps some folks out.

Re: Mi-Light / LimitlessLED / Applamp
Also for anyone curious I'd have to say the V6 bridges effectively eliminate the need to hardwire the board to a PI to get 100% transmissions through. It's been a few days since I got my setup working and so far after hard use the thing hasn't skipped a beat. Definitely a huge improvement on previous versions. (Own both v3 and v5 bridges)

Re: Mi-Light / LimitlessLED / Applamp
Hi,
I'm still not able to control my milight ww/cw bulbs with domoticz (v.3.6752). I have the iBox2 wifi box and I can controle the bulbs with the Android app. I have set the bridge type to v6 and tried all lamp types. Domoticz creates the devices but they don't work. I also tried different on/off scripts (Strontvlieg/bwydoogh) but no success.
Does anyone have any tips for me?

Re: Mi-Light / LimitlessLED / Applamp
As I am completely lost in the Milight V3-V7 / RGBCW/RGBWW/CCT/etc options: If I want to have only white, and I want to be future proof, and to be able to use it in domoticz, which wifi box and which lamps should I buy.
I'm now thinking for these
Looks like the V6/V7 wifibox, and I can use both ww/CW, is this backwards compatible with older bulbs, or is that future?
And if want to buy extra bulbs, do I have to look for specific bulbs, (9w/6w) or doesn't matter?
