I recently released a v2.5 board. These are working great (there was a snafu with the resistors on them but my previous boards didn't have them anyway and it is still the best design, just leave the resistor spots empty).

Very nice device.
Don't you think to add a control with mono-stable wall button?
For example:
- single button's press turns On/Off the lights
- first holding the button while lights is on - dimming up with some step. Next holding - dimming lights down.
- double press - dim to 100% of brightness.

Because if wi-fi is down, you can't control your lights manually.

I just released an update to my QuinLED board bringing it to version 2.6!

This version changes some of the design again, optimizes the layout, adds 2 screw holes, adds a working resistor layout and is able to handle a higher power load!

Hi...i am a new user here. I have few queries, do you know any alternative for the STP16NF06L ? On eBay they are like $4 a piece.Isn't there a more common type that can also be used ? I wonder how you came up to this exact one.What about IRF540 ? Would a MOSFET like that work? That is one that seems more common available and also cheaper. Or FQP30N06L which is available for $0,95 on Sparkfun.

Do NOT buy your semiconductors from China unless you want to get ripped off, this is especially true for power and obsolete components and even more so if you buy them via Ebay

Ideally you would use a logiclevel FET for this application since the output of these ESP modules is only 3.3V (on a sunny day)

A IRF540 is not one of the better choices, a FQP30N06L or STP16NF06L is usable to about 3Amps, if you want to stress them maybe you can do 5A, but I would not go higher.

You don't show your location in your profile, so I don't know what suppliers you can use.

I just stumbled upon this topic today, so my apologies for bumping such an old topic.

I'm looking for small, cheap dimmers that work with Domoticz, preferably being able to handle the standard 12v and 14v stuff, but also 5v LED strips (I got my hands on a few very cheap ones). I think this dimmer might work, but I'm wondering why this topic has been so quiet since the beginning of 2017. Is there a reason for it? Like a finished, all in one competitor that came to the market?
I'm not afraid to solder the stuff together, but with my 'precision' and sausage fingers, I'm probably gonna have a very high failure rate, which I would prefer to avoid.
If anyone can let me know what's going on with this dimmer curently, that would be great.

I currently have one installed in a more or less "test" setup (hey ... my complete setup is an experiment at this point) cobbled together on a prefboard with some components I had available, and it works almost flawlessly, the 'almost' is a result of my less then perfect WiFi setup.

If you have issues with wifi fix them first, or you are not going to be happy with this solution.

QuinLED could do most of what you are looking for except the 5v party maybe, you can try but it might be too low for the voltage regulator. 5v is most often digital LED strip, not analog like QuinLED controls.

Further the project isn't dead, just not a lot of development because QuinLED as it was, was basically done. But, a few months ago I've started it up again and making new hardware and a lot of changes, I'm currently testing second revision boards and not ready to release it to the world just yet. Hopefully soon though!
