Re: Testers wanted!
Sorry if this has been covered before.
I can log in to my.domoticz from within my lan, I see the green man.
However if I try to log in from elsewhere ie my cellphone over the cell network all I see is 'dashboard' on its black background with no red or green man.
I see no mention of the login attempt in the log...
Has done this for some months now, finally got around to asking.
I have tried resetting my browser cache and am running the latest beta ie 3.6544
Thanks,
Matt

This is probably because your phones browser is not fully supported and I'm having the same issue on iOS/Safari. Have you tried logging in with a computer over the internet to see if the problem is in the remote/LAN connection?

Re: Testers wanted!
Hi All,
Love the feature ! works great , excatly what i was looking for...
Now i have a "small" problem :
One of my RPI crashed. So I copied the DB of my other instance so i did not had to add all KAKU's again. Works perfectly normally and saves time ...
But now the InstanceID is also copied ... did not think of that one and there no way to reset the field to blank, so i can not get a new instanceID.
Any suggestion ?
Just be aware of this when using a db of another instance, as it catched me "by suprise".
Edit :
You can use the little prog SQLiteDatabaseBrowserPortable.exe (use google to find it) and then edit the tables.
If you clean the values for MyDomoticz you will get a new ID ! (of course if you allready have you ID you can insert it at the right place )

Re: Testers wanted!
Hi, i have Domoticz v3.5877 running on my Raspberry Pi 2B.
I want to use MyDomoticz, i did that and filled it into my domoticz settings, so i got an instance id. But now i want to use an other account, so i deleted the old one and created a new one, filled erverything in in Domoticz but it doesn`t work! I think that it is because my instance id already is filled, but i can`t reset it. What should i do?

You can do two things: Erase your "instance id" according to the post just above yours, from zicht.camielk wrote:Hi, i have Domoticz v3.5877 running on my Raspberry Pi 2B.

Or log in to your old account. And share your domoticz instance with your new account.

Currently there isn't. We are working on OAuth support, but it make take some time.BluesBro wrote:Is there a way to include user:password on the my.domoticz path for instant log in?
EXAMPLE:
https://my.domoticz.com/my/user:passwor ... /Dashboard
Basic authentication will never be supported because it interferes with the basic authentication in Domoticz itself if you have that enabled.

It seems a local/non-mydomoticz network problem.daconas wrote:Hello, i am New here.

Re: Testers wanted!
Last night I had a fiddle around to try and solve my problem.
I have had a longstanding issue ~5 months or so where I can log into mydomoticz on my home network, and see the green man. All works as it should.
However if I try to log in from my cellphone (wifi off) or another computer in a different location (explorer and chrome tried here) I get the login screen with just the a black bar overlaid with 'dashboard' in white and no green man or red man or anything to click on.
However when fiddling on my phone last night I got the page loaded with the green man up then switched off wifi. Through the cell network I was then able to click on the (pre-loaded) green man, get to my dashboard and drive domoticz as usual.
This is not satisfactory as a workaround of course, as it requires initial access to the home network. The whole point of mydomoticz is to be able to log in and do/check stuff when Im NOT at home. This enables me to show it off to my friends, which if Im honest with myself, is a big reason why I set it up in the first place lol.
Chimit it seems this thread has almost gone quiet, is mydomoticz still being developed? If not I'll stop nagging. If its a case of paying for a server I am happy to pay a small sub to keep it going, as mydomoticz IMHO is a killer feature. Sorry for the hassle,
Matt

The problem that you are pointing out probably has to do with a better internet connection via wifi than via your cellular network.
Mainly the issue has to do (I think) with reloading the Domoticz app cache. These are fairly an amount of requests and MB's.
Seemingly MyDomoticz benefits from a broadband connection in that case.
And about the roadmap status of MyDomoticz: There is a new, optimized version of MyDomoticz that may (or very well may not) address this issue. It is still in testing phase.
Apart from that, there are a few new MyDomoticz features planned. However, we are unable to mention any dates whatsoever. Reason for this is that -so far- MyDomoticz is a voluntary project and there is only so little free time to spend on it. I'm sure you recognize the problem ;=).
Apart from that, also another Domoticz-related project (see the websockets-refactored branch on GitHub) is pending, and in some way it is tightly related to MyDomoticz.
So in short, to answer your question: Yes, MyDomoticz is still being developed. Just it goes slower than usual. If you (know people that) can help out with coding skills, please feel free to pm me.
Hope this helps,
Rene

Re: Testers wanted!
Thankyou Rene.
It is good to know myDomoticz is still being looked at. I appreciate the voluntary work that goes into it, and wish I had coding skills to be able to help you.
In regards to the browser cache thing, this does not explain why I cannot log in from a remote PC does it? Problem is the same on remote PC (work one, in-laws one) as it is on my mobile with wifi off.... Black bar, no man.
In any case, will await next update. I always run the latest dev branch of dom on my pi.
Many thanks,
Matt Little

Question: Are you using the login screen? It might have to do with the authentication cookies. And do you only have one "Domoticz" in your MyDomoticz dashboard? Or more?MattLittle wrote:Thankyou Rene.

Yep I use the log in screen. I only have one 'domoticz' on my dashboard, only one 'instance ID'. We have dynamic IPs here in NZ.Question: Are you using the login screen? It might have to do with the authentication cookies. And do you only have one "Domoticz" in your MyDomoticz dashboard? Or more?
See below. If you need the details I have erased, can PM them to you...
Thanks,
Matt

@MattLittle:
Probably it's not related. But the autologin username/password works if you use basic authentication.
When using the login screen, it does nothing.

Re: Testers wanted!
People may have noticed that MyDomoticz has restarted more frequently lately.
This is having to do with locating and (trying to) fix a bug where the MyDomoticz webinterface (mostly the https version) didn't accept new requests anymore.
Hopefully this has been fixed. Time will tell.

@Rene
I cant work it out. Could you delete my instance/login credentials etc from the server and I will start again.
I think somewhere along the way I've changed the password or something and maybe thats what my problem is.
Doesnt matter what I do (have done yet heh) I cannot see my instance when logging in from outside the LAN.
Sorry again for the hassle.
I will leave mydomoticz offline I think maybe I need to until my a/c is reset/deleted?
Only clue to my addled brain is in a local instance of domoticz under settings, when I view the dotted out password under MyDomoticz settings: it is a random collection of letters and numbers rather than my actual pw....
Thanks,
Matt

You can "remove this instance" yourself from the settings screen (when it is offline).MattLittle wrote:@Rene

The password that you see in your Domoticz settings -after you've entered- is base64-encoded to avoid nosy parkers. That's normal.

Re: Testers wanted!
Apologies, currently there's a lot of unintentional reconnects from Domoticz -> MyDomoticz.
It's an issue in MyDomoticz itself. Hang on while we get this tackled. This may take a while. I have little time for it. Apologies for that.

Re: Testers wanted!
Yet another update: Another new MyDomoticz version has been put online. This version eliminates a lot of running threads compared to the previous one. Performance may (or very well may not) be improved but most of all, hopefully also eliminates some nasty bugs.
Edit: The crash bug that I was also looking for unfortunately still seems to be there. Hang on while we are hunting this down.
Edit2: Session management has been refactored and now it goes better.
