This might sound a bit of gimmick, what about voices control to show off to our friend and family plus apple fan boys.

Some wishes/ideas:
- Option to hide battery level, i see a lot of '255' but i don't have any device running on battery
- Be able to check log of switch
- Make a view/menu option to only list some favorite switches, instead of the whole list
- Maybe do something with green and red for on/off state of switches? I understand that blue is more in line with the GUI, but using green/red for a switch makes it immediately clear for someone what the state of a switch is.
- When i have the app open, and press home button, and then open the app again, the list of switches/scenes/whatever stays white, i have to click that menu item again to reload it. Maybe force a reload when app is opened?

And a question: I have geofencing enabled. I left my home this morning, and i see in the log of my virtual switch for my phone that it went off, like it should. However, a few minutes later it turned on, while i am at my work. This is unwanted, because my central heating kicks in, however nobody is home. How can i make the geofencing more reliable/stable to prevent this unwanted on/off/on scenario?
Image
I left my home at 07:23, and returned at 16:10.. I turned the switch off by hand at 08:16

That's odd. Do you get the notification that the geofence was triggered?

Narrowing down the radius of the geofence will increase the reliability. Android will trigger the geofence when it's 100% sure that you transitioned in or out of the geofence. When it's locating you using GPS it's very precise but when using cell towers it is very unreliable. Your location may then be off by 1,5 kilometer. If you have a large radius it's easy to transition in and out of it when using cell towers for determining the location.

During testing I noticed when I set a 500m radius I'm transitioning out of the geofence I setup around my home while I was sitting on the couch. Narrowing that down made that go away.

Hi, first: Thank you for a great app!

But I have an issue with the Dromotica app.
When I'm in the app, and my phone's screen times out, the apps "pages" like Dashbord, Switches, etc. it blank when I activate the phone again. Same issue if I press "home" button on my phone, and then open the app again.
I need to manually close the app using "recent apps", and then start the app again to get back my devices in the different "pages".
Is this a known issue, or is it just me?
This is how it should look

I noticed this problem to. When you close the app with the home button and reopen the app at a later time you get a white screen.
When you select the back button you get back to your previous selection (switches, utility, etc). So I preffer the use of the home button.

It's a native app.

There's a donate button at the bottom of this page. However for the premium features to work you'll need to buy the in-app purchase. There's no way for me to handle the licenses some other way. The in-app purchase is a lifetime purchase you only need to buy once.

For notifications Domoticz will need to talk to Google Cloud Messaging. I think that's indeed a nice feature to have in Dromotica but it will require development in C in Domoticz itself. So, no promises on that front :-)

The bug with the empty screens I'll fix in a next update. That will take a bit before it's available as I'm working on a new feature that will also be included.

Hi, and thank you for the beautiful app!

I've noticed a small bug with geofences. Geofence entry action is executed if phone is rebooted while inside the geofence. I dont think this is the desired functionality.

Another great improvement would be having some kind of GUI for setting up the geofences (like in Tasker for example), where you can point a place on map and set the radius.

Just sharing some thoughts. Keep up the great work!

Hi, the reboot is by design. When you reboot your phone all geofences stored on your device are lost and need to be recreated. Dromotica does this but when you are inside a geonfence when it is created Android will trigger it. The same will happen when you create a new geofence and you're inside it's radius. This is how Android works unfortunately.

A map view is a nice enhancement for geofence creation indeed.

Hi good evening,

I'm trying to get Domoticz working on my samsung S4.
Unfortately i'm not so good with IP addresses and port forwarding and so on, so i want to ask for some help.

I really try to find a solution on the forum, but i couldn't find.
Please if i missed something just let me know.

This are my details:
Software computer: Domoticz (here everything is working)
Software phone: Dromotica
Hardware: RFXtrx (new version)
Modem: KPN Experia V8

My questions:
-Do i need to forward a port in my modem?
-What i exactly have to fill in at Domoticz / application?
-What i exactly have to fill in at Dromotica app
-How do i know which IP address and port i need?

Sorry for all those questions!
But already thanks for all you help in advance.

Hi there,

Hope you can something with these answers.

My questions:
-Do i need to forward a port in my modem?
Yes port 8080 to the IP address of your computer. (make it a Fixed IP address not DHCP).
-What i exactly have to fill in at Domoticz / application?
I mean nothing...
-What i exactly have to fill in at Dromotica app
You need the answer all the questions at "Remote Server Settings"
- Username and password you use to get in to the domoticz page.
- Domoticz URL: ip form your internet connection (see next question how you can find it).
- Domoticz port: 8080
- Secure: insecure
- Authentication method: Login form

-How do i know which IP address and port i need?
Port 8080 is used by domoticz. (look in the browser when you open Domoticz in your browser). To look up your Internet IP adress go to: www.watismijnip.nl and use the given IP adress in the app

Greetings Brutus.

When you forward port 8080 you'll be sending your username and password in plain text. Before opening ports to Domoticz I recommend you read the Wiki page on secure remote access first.

Turn on the heating at home when you leave work. Turn on the lights when you arrive at your home.

Hi Brutus,

Believe it or not but everything works.
Just start it up and everything was on my phone already.
I think i had to restart the modem yesterday and i didn't.........
Today i had short circuit in my house (testing coffeemachine) so after this all worked.
For this moment installed everything on my laptop with no fixed IP but that will change soon.
Thinking for normal computer or Raspberry B+........

Thanks for you help and up to the next question!

Regards

Hi JurjenH

Nice to hear it all works. The Raspberry Pi for using domoticz is a recommendation. I use it my self and its a very nice piece of hardware, and for me important very low on power usage.
