Some already pointed out that only those who have problems reports their anger on the internet. This may be true, but IMO not on a forum like this one: Users have been active before their orders. Many ordered several devices and reported their problems for those running as well as the defective ones, as a feedback on what was looking as a bargain at first (and for many, was not in the end).

I start having many devices, none of the A-branded ones failed for now and I have a 2 years waranty. 50% of Neo did very quickly. I don't think the remaining will last for long and buying in China = in practice, no waranty after product delivery confirmation (My advice: Confirm delivery a few days after, always better to convince seller to refund if confirmation not done).

That's my own statistics and many other can exhibits the same. These facts have to be told, so others can make their mind.

i know a lot of crap comes from those factories.
I would only prefer some more foundation/information.
Like some topics above. A switch burned by switching garden lighting. I would like to know where was the plug positioned. In the garden, shed, livingroom or....
I had even a manual ip65 switch burned out, not by the switch, but by moisture that gather in one of the lamps.
All i am trying to say, not all Chinese stuff is crap. But first look for information before buying them.

An example regarding rebranding (price difference between them 8-10 euro buying in Europe or > 20 buying them in China):
POPP WALL PLUG DIMMER - SCHUKO (POP-DIMF) (german "quality" product)


and TKB_TZ67-G, different brand, same product. (Chinese "Cheap" product)

Well, POP is not known to produce in Europe like Qubino for instance... So may rebrand. As well, the case may be a standard one that may be fit to host very different products. Not seeing it's internal you just cannot be sure this is the exact same product.

As for Neo plugs that really looks like another one from a well known manufacturer from an oustide look: See your own photos here-upper, the right side not even all the soldering allowed by the PCB design on the power side is done to make assembly quicker. They also simplified the design as much as they could: The BOM may just be halved from one to another.

Xenon's using a counterfeit chip and it won't be supported by openzwave ever. So you're on your own.

So, Hank's smart socket finally arrived yesterday.

The overall impression is: it's a decent device by build, also it's quite heavy.

I've made the corresponding xml files and published into OZW.

I'm no expert on that, but I own two of the Neo Coolcam plugs. Compared to them (it's just an overall feeling) Hank's solution is better in terms of build quality. Of course the main thing is the question: what's inside. That's the one I don't know and not planning to open it.

Ok. I also have several neo cool powerplugs up and running. The are mounted once in their final position and running nicely. To cover the whole house I needed to mount Fibaro plug halfway. Now all plugs are able to see the zwave stick. Only the oven at 3500w. Can't be dealt with by any zwave powerplug I was able to grab my hands on. Microwave. Quooker. Eg at 1750w work just fine. The Hank one looks nice let me see how I can order.

A the guys here also discuss the NEO products and powerplugs. https://forum.athom.com/discussion/1745/neo-z-wave/p2 they seem to have some different opinion regarding the safety. I am a noob regarding this so just mentioning it. Leave the discussion open for the experts.

Hi,

products will be supported by Domoticz - we just have them in test.
The XML is missing in this time, but it is not a problem.

But please note - the products are not "safety certified" in this time (but very nice,... agree ).

This is not the correct representation of the device.
Initially (when including) the plug in Domoticz they do not give the correct devices.
This could me corrected by deleting atleast Id 10 and 11 eg. both "Usage Electric"
Then via Setup -> Settings allow for 5 min to discover new devices. Manually switch on /off the plug.
Then you will end up with 2 new devices one of them will be General / kWh
