EdddieN wrote: Wednesday 03 October 2018 15:26 I did this, so I can test both stable and beta:

Code: Select all

cd domoticz/www/styles
git clone https://github.com/EdddieN/machinon-domoticz_theme.git machinon-beta
cd machinon-beta
git checkout beta
Thx. Switched to beta and did all the checks / resets / clears / restarts but still no nice little icons on my temperature tiles :)
This is certainly not a big deal for me. I just noticed it and was wondering why there was a difference between temperature and the other tabs.

I made them a bit bigger now. Also experimented with putting them on the side or center. Happy either way...

Guys this is looking amazing!!

Small thinks like replacing date with "last seen" seem small things but they make a huge different from the user point of view. It has been something it has been driving me nuts for months, so happy to see it addressed now - Great work!!

Still no Fun here on V4.10038 with stable or beta theme.
Installed V4.9700 (aka stable) on my test system together with beta machinon and there they are !!
I know gizmocuz is working on log related stuff so maybe related ?

Great! At least we know why now.

Work on log? Haven’t looked at the latest beta work for a while. Something nice?

Hi, I like this theme, especially the dark mode. Great work!

One thing I don't like so much is that, even in dark mode the top header with the Machinon logo remains blue.
Can this be removed somehow without losing the great search/filter facility with the gearbox in the top-left?

I see what you mean. There's a request in github to be able to replace the logo / name with anything the user wants, but there's a bit of a queue for things to do first.

The dark theme was a quick thing, we need more feedback. Your's is good and I take the point about the blue banner. I'll see what design I can come up with.

Thanks for the feedback!

What do you mean?

Also working in the background on something like this (still early days as we run the risk to intimidate the user)

By the way, the user is mostly a non technical user. I would really like to gain a lot more traction with the HA community for the Domoticz community. I still think it is far friendlier than anything out there :D

I think if you have a tab on wall you don't need icon and all container logo...

Also, looking at cameras, I like what Aurora has done:

Do any of you use the cameras motion sensors too? Would be nice if we could have the camera + some kind of motion indicator as @DewGew has done with the battery icons.

I can work on it a bit, but would like to know how people use it.

Also, having to add a camera to a virtual switch. Is this the only way to add them to the dashboard?
If that is the case, can we replace the "bulb" with a motion icon?

cam support would be great indeed! I don't think domoticz support camera as motion sensor and you need third party software like motioneye or something.
have you seen the new event editor layout that is on github ? looks nice.

data visualisations is also very nice features of aurora. I hope some day it would included to.

are there plans to add machinon included in the main domoticz release?

New event editor? no where? I did a quick search but nothing. Is this Domoticz or Aurora theme?

Re motion: I use Foscam that has motion detection, this is tied to a QNAP which calls the Domoticz API for motion. So yes, 3rd party. Still, is worth keeping in mind, I also use stand alone motion sensor that take a camera snapshot when motion detection so maybe a way to mix Camera + something related...

In terms of data visualisation, you mean charts? I must admit is something I haven't given it much attention, working now on an "interesting events" only idea. I'll CC you on the conversations when design ready.

Re adding it to Domoticz: Would love to! Although I can imagine the more themes are added by default (and definitely the ones that change the default theme more aggressively like Aurora and Machinon) the harder it makes it for the developers of Domoticz core? You know, suddenly they have the logic of Domoticz to maintain + making sure themes work ok. Makes sense?

That said, if we are to take Domoticz to the broader audience (beyond tinkerers like ourselves), we probably need to start having these conversations, I personally I'm all up for SHOUTING VERY LOUD about Domoticz, the machinon hardware is may way to help people getting something working out of the box. :D

Has it been announced on the forum? or even domoticz FB page?
